(Jay) Smith and W.H.(Willie) Burton founded a resort on what is now known as Jetty Road near where today's Atlantic Boulevard meets US 1/4 There are stories about how this early Daytona Beach developed: According to one story, Jay Smith used his earnings from running a sawmill at nearby Indian Harbour for some construction supplies needed for his new development; when he could not find any locals with enough funds or experience to help build him a dockyard and wharf, he turned to trader Edward "Ned" Beale for help In 1893 Jay Smith's brother Will found land adjacent to current day Speedway Boulevard on which they built their first home - still standing today - called "The Point". A year later they moved into their present house on Congress Avenue SW next door to City Hall which served as their office until 1926 When both businesses failed Jay Smith decided that property along Congress Avenue would make more sense mixed with citrus groves so he bought them all In 1924 W H Burton passed away leaving behind two children J B & Helen Burton ran what became known as The Jetty House until 1963 when it was sold again & re-opened as The Housemartin which remains its current name today This story does have one key difference: While Ned Beale did indeed provide financial assistance during Jay Smith's early days in Daytona Beach, he eventually left town & never looked back In fact after Naismith’s basketball game between America (now Jacksonville) & Cuba (now Havana), many American businessmen who had followed Naismith were so impressed with what they saw that they soon donated money towards building an arena in Downtown Jacksonville where basketball would continue played until 1993 . It was only after that game that Jacksonville began developing into its current form! In 1925 architect John Ladd designed The Jetty House which still stands today across from City Hall in downtown Daytona Beach As you can see from above there has been quite an evolution over time! From being just a single family home with limited exposure outside of their home country Oceania (& occasionally while living there too!), through becoming an iconic complex composed of 5 buildings housing various government offices& residences etc., before achieving itscurrentform? What makes this particular case unique however is that none of these changes occurred overnight! Rather each change took place gradually over timelending credence once againtothe founding fathers who may have actually foreseen some potential consequences should their venture fail like so many others had done before them ! Indeed if we take another look at how similar these developments were across different coastal cities during this era such as Charleston SC during prohibition or Mobile Alabama during World War II we can better understand why communities like DaytonaBeach flourished despite difficult times Picking up life onceagain following prohibition or WW2 simply wasn't possible without basic resources like transportation or engineering knowhow These days things definitely couldn't be simpler!
