The Cutler Bay, Florida history begins in the late 1800s when a group of settlers named George and Anna Cutler bought land in what is now Cutler Bay. The first house was built on the current site in 1892. A store was started by John Healey in 1915 and continued to be run by his son, John Healey Jr., until 1923. By 1930, there were 5 businesses in town. In 1945, the town had a population of 40 people and 7 homes. On May 10, 1946, the first fire destroyed most of the buildings in town and left about 20 people homeless.

Additionally, there are several restaurants located in or near the community: Sloppy Joe's BBQ & Seafood (which serves delicious pork sandwiches), Mama Mia's Italian Restaurant (a popular spot for dinner with family), Harbour House Cafe (a great place to catch a bake sale or breakfast sandwich), Island Grill (an excellent place for lunch or dinner), The Olde English Pub & Grille (an old favorite for steak night), and Forked Road Cafe (a local favorite with delicious pasta dishes). The community also offers many opportunities for entertainment including annual events like Homecomingfest at the beachfront stadium on July 4th; summer concerts at various locations throughout the Community Park; fall festivals featuring food from different cultures all over South Florida; winter sports events like an annual snowball fight on December 6th at Harbour Drive Marketplace; and more! In addition to these activities, Cutler Bay also hosts monthly meetings of their Citizens' Advisory Committee which provides valuable input into important decisions made by the town government. A major reason why Cutler Bay continues to thrive is its close relationship with its neighboring municipalities – both of whom have helped support it through economic development initiatives such as housing construction projects, street repairs/maintenance work, donations of equipment and materials during holidays season etc. It truly is amazing how two villages could be so supportive when it comes to each others' shared interests!

The Cutler Bay area of Florida was first settled by African Americans in the early 1840s. The community was named for Captain John Cutler, a white British Army officer who helped lead an expeditions against Seminole Indians in 1837 and 1838. Captain Cutler's group built a plantation here around 1845 and soon became one of the largest slaveholders in Florida. Cutler Bay soon became an important commercial center due to its location on the Gulf of Mexico and its access to shipping lanes. It also developed into a prominent breeding ground for horses, cattle, and pigs. The town continued to grow through the 1850s and 1860s, thanks to the addition of new homes, businesses, and schools. By 1870, Cutler Bay had become one of the most significant communities in southeastern Florida. But despite its success as a commercial center, Cutler Bay experienced some difficult times during the late 1800s and early 1900s. For instance, it was enduring periodic funding shortages that led to social unrest among its residents. Additionally, several natural disasters hit the area during this time: a devastating hurricane in 1898 killed many people in Cutler Bay; a series of severe floods that swept through the community in 1907; and finally, Hurricane Andrew struck southwestern Florida two years later killing thousands of people and causing extensive damage across much of southeasternFlorida
Cutler Bay is located in the state of Florida. Cutler Bay was founded by Captain John Cutler and his family in 1795. The town was named after Captain John's brother, Samuel Cutler. In 1819, the town was renamed to Cutler Springs after Major General James Shields who served as Governor of Florida at the time. The town grew rapidly during the 19th century and by 1830 it had a population of over 300 people. However, during the Panic of 1837 the town lost its importance and declined until it merged with neighbouring towns in 1881.
