Cutler Bay is a small town in Polk County, Florida, United States. The population was 614 at the 2010 census. Cutler Bay is located on the north shore of Lake Okeechobee and includes the community of Cutler Bay Waterfront. It is part of the Kissimmee–Hollywood, Florida Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settlers in Cutler Bay were farmers who arrived in 1841. They operated a sawmill and gristmill there until 1865 when they moved to what is now Hialeah Gardens. In 1903, they founded the village of Cutler Bay which included a post office and store. The Village had a school, fire hall, Baptist Church (1898), Methodist Church (1905), cemetery (1912), club house (1945) and pool hall (. . .) until it disbanded in 1951 due to budget cuts by then-Mayor Harry Jinks. In 1954, Mayor Jinks proposed that the name be changed to "Cutler Bay" after Congressman John C. Cutler who had represented Polk County in Congress from 1945-1950 during World War II; however, no action was taken on this proposal for many years because it conflicted with nearby Hialeah Gardens which had been renamed "Kissimmee". Finally, on October 14, 2000 – more than 60 years after Congressman Cutler's death – KISSIMMEE CITY Council approved changing the name to "CutlerBay" following unanimous vote by all members of City Council including Mayor Rick Singer QC The first water tower was built near where town center currently stands in 1956 as well as an elementary school and library which opened in 1961 followed by an agricultural college opened in 1965 which closed down in 1984 after serving only four years A new shopping mall called "The Cove" opened on May 17th 2001 inside Interstate 495 next to US 1 exit 95B southbound between State Road A1A & SR 522 eastbound near US 1 exit 95C westbound just before Exit 95D . This shopping mall became known locally as "The Harbor". On September 16th 2006 - almost 20 years since its opening - The Cove closed down due to financial troubles and went out of business leaving behind several empty stores including Sears & Kmart along with twomarinas belonging to Carnival Cruise Line & Suncoast Marina . As of 2016 there are only two remaining businesses left standing: Surfside Bait & Tackle which has been open since 1978 and Just For Laughs Comedy Club which reopened on December 10th 2017 after being vacant for over 3 years

In 1865, it became a county seat of Polk County. Cutler Bay experienced growth during World War II as many military veterans moved to the area to work in defense plants. The population peaked at around 30,000 in 1945 but declined over the next few decades as businesses closed or moved out of state. The population today is about 10,000 residents. Cutler Bay has several attractions including a beachfront amusement park called Ocean Park; an aquarium; and a golf course named after former governor Bob Graham (1927-2001). There are also several smaller villages located within its borders: Cutler Village, East Cutler Beach, West Cutler Beach and North Cutler Beach.
Cutler Bay was founded in 1868 by two brothers, Abram and John Cutler. It is named after John Cutler's father, Abram Cutler. The town became a popular stop on the Florida Railway system, and began to grow. In 1906, the town of Cutler Bay annexed the neighboring village of Neptune Beach.
