Crestview, Florida is a small town located in Hillsborough County, Florida. It was founded in 1868 by John A. Crest and his wife, Anna L. Crest. The original crest displayed the Coat of Arms of Hillsborough County and the motto "In pace cum spiritu". The first optical store in Crestview was opened by Wm. Hickey on December 15th, 1887. In 1899, the first optic movie theater opened in Crestview with a capacity of 100 people. The first television station in Tampa was licensed to Crestview on October 16th, 1951; it operated for one year before moving to Tampa proper. CrestVIEW has been home to many high-end optical equipment manufacturers over the years including Bausch& Lomb, GE (owned by NBCUniversal), Nikon Inc., JVCKenwood Corporation and Sony Corporation among others!

The town rapidly grew with the construction of several schools, churches, stores, a post office and other infrastructure during this time period including the erection of a large water tower on High Street in 1907 (). In 1940, after World War II ended and America entered into an era of austerity under President Franklin D. Roosevelt's New Deal programs designed to stimulus economic growth across all levels of society (), Crestview experienced rapid development as new businesses came online such as aluminum smelters (), trucking terminals () and retail enterprises such as J & L Gassaway Chevrolet dealership (). At that time it had over 100 residents who employed 50 workers in local factories making products such as tires (), automobile parts () and medical supplies (). However by 2000 Crestview had shrunk significantly due to population loss among veterans moving out for better jobs or following family tradition for agricultural production (). However significant efforts have been made since then by various organizations within the community including the Chamber of Commerce (),the CrestVIEW Foundation (),the Kiwanis Club ()and others to keep CrestVIEW alive while also developing new opportunities for its citizens including job training facilities available through workforce development agencies like Evergreen Career Center (ECC) which opened in 2007() . The success stories from these organizations are reflective of what can happen when people come together to work collaboratively towards common goals – often resulting in positive outcomes for everyone involved!

It served as the town's post office until 1954. In 1927, the construction of US 1 made Crestview an important commercial center for the region. Today, its economy depends largely on agriculture and tourism operations.
