Crestview is a town in Broward County, Florida, United States. The population was 9,554 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Miami-Dade Metropolitan Statistical Area. Crestview was founded in 1903 by Captain George Prentice and his wife Flora BellePrentice on land that now includes much of Northwest Collier County. The first store in Crestview was built on Riverwalk Boulevard. Captain George Prentice also began marketing fresh fruit and vegetables to local residents from his farmstand downriver on Neptune Avenue. By 1912, Crestview had a post office and two banks with $2,000 each in deposits. In 1916, Captain Prentice donated 2 acres (0 km²) to the town for development as a parkland area with an playground, tennis court, public library, and new school district buildings being constructed thereon. These developments led to CrestVIEW becoming one of America's most diverse communities with almost every type of housing represented - single-family homes (most were attached), duplexes/triplexes (later), mobile home parks/villas (starting around 1966), condominiums/peaksites (+/-1%), apartments (+/-5%), RVs (+/-10%), etc., until developers again turned their attention to shopping mall development starting around 2000 which eventually led to the current mixed-use growth pattern seen today within the boundaries of downtown Crestview proper as well as portions of NW Collier County annexed into the town since its creation – some areas having more than one convenience store per block! In recent years many businesses have closed or been moved out due to lack of customers or competition from other malls located much closer by like Dadeland Mall or Kmart Park Village; however several large-scale restaurant chains still operate within walking distance such as Outback Steakhouse and Hardee's Restaurants as well as many small mom-and-pop stores which continue to provide quality customer service even during tough times! Even though many businesses are no longer operational due to either economic reasons or competition from newer malls nearby like Dadeland Mall or Kmart Park Village; this does not mean that people have stopped coming here – Quite the contrary! In fact I would say that some people simply " move away" while others "come back" because they love what they do here – it’s just a little different these days!

Crestview, Florida is a small town located on the Gulf Coast of Florida. The population was 1,523 at the 2000 census and 1,711 at the 2010 census. It is part of Miami-Dade County. The name Crestview comes from Spanish meaning "coastal point." The first settlers in this area were Frenchmen who came to this region in the mid 1700s looking for new land to settle after their colony in Louisiana failed. Crestview was founded by Captain John A. Porter in 1853 as a landing place for phosphate ore being shipped from West Africa. Crestview has been an important fishing and shipping center since its establishment. In 1903, Crestview became home to Florida's first airfield; it served as a stop on Southern Airways until 1935. During World War II, Fort Lauderdale's Naval Air Station (NAVY) made use of CrestVIEW'S airstrip which was also used by RAF Bomber Command during both world wars. Today, portions of NASTY AREA are still used by Fort Lauderdale Police Department while other portions are leased to various businesses including Hooters International and Clearwater Beach Aquarium. The shopping district of Fort Lauderdale proper includes two malls: Dillard's and Sears Centre which together have over 120 stores and restaurants inside them plus another 20 or so outside on levels above or below these stores serving as anchors for these mall complexes La Jolla Playfair and Miracle Mile malls respectively). These complexes offer extensive resort amenities such as five golf courses: one owned by CGA Holdings Inc., worth $200 million; three theme parks - Universal Studios Hollywood (owned by Comcast), Six Flags Hurricane Harbor (owned by Viacom) and Discovery Island - with water rides, amusement park attractions like Six Flags America/Aqua Park/Mall of America/SeaWorld; more than 100 travel-related shops; high-end condominiums developments such as Regency Harbour Place ($1 billion); office buildings near I-95 including One Financial Center ($2 billion); a large airport complex with terminals open to commercial airlines both major carriers' hubs - Ronald Reagan Presidential Library & Museum containing presidential archives dating back to 1797; seven stadiums - three baseball (including one flagship stadium built specifically for the 1998 Olympics), two football stadiums (one jointly operated with Miami Dolphins NFL team owner Micky Arison), several multi-use arenas including American Airlines Arena – home of the NHL's Tampa Bay Lightning -[the largest arena in South Florida]; numerous waterparks some themed around different countries or continents like China Lake,[a theme park version of] Disney’s Animal Kingdom[in Orlando], Latin America’s Caribbean Sea World [in Stuart], twotheme parks based on MGM movies like Avatar: Flight 587 [near Orlando]and Transformers: Age Of Extinction [near Naples]. Crestview is a small town in Broward County, Florida. It has a population of about 10,000 people and was founded in 1922 by residents of Fort Lauderdale. The name "Crestview" comes from the crest on the roof of the first local post office. Crestview's rich history begins with its location as part of what was then known as South Florida. In 1902, Broward County was created from parts of Miami-Dade and Palm Beach Counties. Fort Lauderdale was then added to Broward County and Crestview became one of its thirteen towns. The first businesses in Crestview were grocery stores, which opened in 1922 and 1924 respectively. By 1933, Crestview had six banks and two insurance companies. Businesses continued to grow during World War II, when it served as an airfield for the United States Air Force (USAF). After the war ended, CrestVIEW experienced rapid growth thanks to its proximity to Hollywood Boulevard and other major tourist destinations. Some Key Developments during this time include: In 1948, Crest View Elementary School opened; it remains one of the most popular schools in town today! In 1951, Wynn Intercontinental Hotel opened; it is still Operator’s current hotel located on Sunset Boulevard adjacent to The Beverly Hilton! Additionally in that year also saw the opening of First Baptist Church - now home to Crossroads Bible Church! In 1957 Hurricane Agnes swept through south Florida killing over 100 people including many residents who lived near Clearwater Beach - leaving behind a devastated area which still suffers Many enduring physical injuries especially due to plethorasand flooding resultant from high tide events lasting weeks or even months after landfall etc... All told there are numerous examples throughout history where communities have overcome difficult odds & continue thriving despite adversity- however these stories often go untold because our society does not value Local History (& history should be taught at all levels)
The first white child was born in Crestview, Florida on October 12, 1892. The town was named after the Indian River which ran through it. Crestview is located on the east coast of Marco Island and was founded about 1850 by Captain James Wolkowitz and his family. In 1906, the island became part of the United States and Crestview became a government post. It closed in 1959 when the US Postal Service merged with the Federal Express Company
