Some of the earliest firearms to appear in the town were shotguns, which were used for hunting small game and birds. In 1892, a group of businessmen organized the first gun show in Crestview, and began selling rifles and shotguns. The show continued to be held annually until 1911. During that time, Crestview also became home to one of the most important firearm-related businesses in the area: The Gun Shop. The Gun Shop was founded by George Henson and his wife Maudie in 1899. It was through this business that Crestview begins becoming known as a center for firearms retailing and training. From here on out, it would be through GHS that local residents would continue to purchase firearms for their needs. In 1941, Harry Elwell began manufacturing high-quality pistols in Crestview under the name “Elwell” Firearms Incorporated. This company would become one of Florida’s leading producers of handguns and Sturm Ruger handguns continues to produce quality products today under its current name – American Outdoor Brands Incorporated (AOBI). After World War II ended, many Americans fled abroad due to social unrest around the world; however, many Floridians remained behind and continued buying guns from localGun shops throughout the postwar period. In 1978, Elwell Firearms merged with Classic Arms Corporation to form Classic Arms & Ammunition Incorporated (CARI). This company would continue making high-quality ammunition products statewide until 1992 when they merged with Hornady America Corporation (HORNADY) once again creating what is now known as American Outdoor Brands Incorporations - AOBI(formerlyClassicArms&AmmunitionInc.)
Crestview is a town in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. The population was 12,849 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Miami metropolitan area. The community of Crestview was founded by English settlers in 1880 on what is now Northwest 158th Street and Northwest 163rd Avenue. The first post office in Crestview was established in 1881, and the first store opened in 1883. In 1912, the town developed its own water system and named it "Crestview Water Company". In 1926, Crestview annexed portions of unincorporated Kendallville to form a new town. A second annexation occurred in 1970 when parts of Plantation Key were added to Crestview. In 1975, CrestVIEW became an incorporated municipality with its own government and school board. In 2006, crestVIEW annexed part of Pompano Beach to form another addition to its municipal borders; this annexation made up for lost territory when Pompano Beach withdrew from Broward County government effective January 1, 2006. In 2013 CRESTVIEW WATER COMPANY merged with FLOWERSource

Crestview is a town in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. The population was 18,927 at the 2010 census. Crestview is located on the southern fringe of Downtown Miami and bordered by Sawgrass Gardens to the east and south, Midtown Miami to the west and north, and Biscayne Bay to the northwest. It is part of the GreaterMiami metropolitan area. The area now known as Crestview was first populated by Seminole Indians in 1795 when they moved from what is now Tallahassee, Florida. In 1837 it was incorporated as a village within Dade County. For many years it functioned as an agricultural center for surrounding rural areas until industries developed in the late 20th century that have left Crestview with a strong economy today. In 1907, Floridian AECO engineer Harry Haggard designed a dam on Biscayne Bay which would create power for Miami's electric grid. By 1922 Haggerty had named his company after himself – HAGGARD ELECTRIC CO., INC.. The company built several dams across Broward County before its heyday ended in 1954 when Gulf Power merged with American Electric Power (AEP). In 1958 Crestview Elementary School opened adjacent to Gulf Power's enlargement plant on Northwest Seventh Avenue. The plant closed in 1987 but parts of it still stand today including a visitors center and power lines running through it which serve both local businesses and downtown Miami proper
Crestview is a town in Broward County, Florida, United States. The population was 5,922 at the 2010 census. It was founded in 1925 by Ozzie and Myrtle Burnett as a small community on the east side of Fort Lauderdale Bay. Crestview transitioned from an agricultural to a manufacturing base after World War II when it became one of the first towns in South Florida to be built on landfill. In 1967, Crestview became part of SunSentinel Media's Walt Disney Company media center complex which includes properties in Parkland and Hollywood Hills.
