By 1903, Crestview had become an important center for Ammunition production in Florida. In 1922, the first factory in Crestview was opened by Armour Manufacturing Company. The company manufactured rounds for shotguns and pistols. After World War II, Armour manufacturing company shut down its operations in Crestview and the town lost its importance as a munitions producer. However, the town has continued to produce ammunition products since then including many different types of rounds including 9mm sub-caliber rounds, .357 Magnum rounds and more recently 5.56 NATO rounds.
Crestview is a small town located in the panhandle of Florida. The population was 8,835 at the 2010 census, making it the most populous municipality in Brevard County. Crestview is bordered by Polk County to the north and east, Flagler County to the south, and Martin County to the west. It is part of the Jacksonville metropolitan area. The history of Crestview dates back to 1892 when two brothers named John and Jesse Frost opened a grocery store on South Orange Avenue in what is now Crestview. In 1912, they built a home on Pine Street that still stands today. In 1922, they moved their business again and this time established a grocery store and post office at 204 West Winter Rd which still stands today as the Crest View Post Office. They also built a church on North Orange Avenue which still remains today as Christ United Methodist Church. From 1928-1958, these businesses operated as one entity known as The Frost Brothers Grocery Store Incorporated. In 1958, The Frost Brothers Grocery Store sold their businesses to Wm Henson who operated them for thirteen years until he sold them to Burt Myers in 1976 who operates them currently as Myers Bros Grocery Store Incorporated with its original location on Winter Road close to where they first opened their doors in 1912. In 1990, Wm Henson donated his entire assets (minus his stores) to Brevard Community College so thatBrevard Community College could open its first school campus in Crestview with an initial enrollment of sixty students! Today’s campus features more than five hundred students! Burt Myers continues To operate both his grocers stores with around 130 employees; each store offers over 350 products from items such as groceries, processed foods/milks/varieties of fruits/veggies along with baked goods including pies and cakes! His largest product line are dairy items such as cheese products and ice cream! He also has several sectional foodstores throughout Brevard County including one near Melbourne Airport which specializes exclusively in frozen seafood! Today’s crest view community is not just about providing quality groceries but extended family values are top priority for allcommunity members here!. Crestview is a small town in Escambia County, Florida, United States. The population was 2,611 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Pensacola–Ft. Walton Beach Metropolitan Statistical Area. Crestview has been called "the most beautiful place on earth" and according to a study done in 2006 by Forbes magazine, it had the second highest median home value in Florida behind only Miami-Dade County. The first inhabitants of Crestview were Native Americans who resided there for centuries before this area became part of Spanish territory in 1565. The name "Crestview" was given to the community because of its high elevation, near the crest of a mountain which afforded an excellent view from all parts of the town. In 1868, American soldiers burned down some Indian villages during their campaigns against Seminole Indians and this caused severe damage to the local economy as many residents lost their homes and businesses. In 1905, Crestview became a municipality under state law following approval by voters in a referendum. For several years prior to that time, it had been an unincorporated community with no municipal government other than that provided by its own citizens. In 1907, when Escambia County was created from parts of three previous counties, Crestview became one of its first municipalities and continued to operate independently until 1918 when it amalgamated with neighboring communities Springdale and White Sands to form Pensacola-Ft Walton Beach Municipal District No 1 (Pensacola-Ft Walton Beach MCD). The Small Business Administration funded two plant openings at CrestVIEW Technology Park which resulted in jobs for approximately 100 people during 1984 through 1988; however these plants closed after just four years due to low sales levels and competition from larger technology parks located nearby such as Doheny Tech Park (Miami), Miracle Mile Center (Orlando) and Lake Mary Tech Park (Lake Mary). During those years much progress was made within CrestVIEW but little success resulted until early 1992 when entrepreneur/developer Donny Seibert opened his new business development center known as 'The Place' on Second Avenue providing access to cutting edge technologies including software engineering services for various industries including health care information technology; environmental consulting services for energy management; information systems design services for public agencies; commercial real estate development; marketing research support services for global companies operating within UHF spectrum boundaries; among others! This success led him into entrepreneurship again developing several more successful businesses over ensuing decade before finally retiring in 2005 having enjoyed more than three decades worth of successful entrepreneurial ventures!
