Cooper City is a city in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. The population was 508 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Miami metropolitan area. Cooper City is located on the eastern edge of Dadeland and includes portions of Coconut Grove and Overtown neighborhoods. The name "Cooper City" was given to the community by Colonel John C. Cooper who donated land for its development in 1924. The first store in town was started by Ollie Witherspoon and his wife Lulu Storey on Northwest 3rd Street in 1925. In 1928, General Motors built a plant adjacent to NW 2nd Avenue which soon produced over 1 million cars each month for local dealerships and GM Europe markets across Europe. In 1954, Cooper City opened its first public library with a collection of 8,000 bookshelves and an 800-seat auditorium which served as the town's center until it closed in 1984 due to budget cuts mandated by then-Mayor Willie Brown after he won re-election as mayor with 71% of the vote. The new library opened on Monday mornings instead and still serves as the town's main source of civic involvement today In 1957, gifts from IBM Chairman Joltley Morgan funded two miles (3 km) of expressway called I-95/I-75 through downtown Cooper City connecting Miami Beach with Westchester County on the mainland US; this highway remain one of Cooper City's most famous landmarks to this day In 1969, Coca Cola decided to open their world headquarters here – their first physical location outside North America – inside what would become Ernst & Young’s campus off NW 3rd Street before they moved out permanently in 2005 . Today only one building remains from that period: an associated garage used by Ernst & Young until it vacated its campus premises in 2005 . Additionally five buildings were demolished between 1969 and 1975 when Coke announced plans to build University Place next door but never did because zoning changes precluded them from doing so; these included two office towers now known as One First Plaza condos along Northeast 2nd Avenue behind Ernst & Young’s Campus Center (which has been preserved), plus a single small warehouse once occupied by GAF Corp., now home to Live Nation Concerts LLC . Between them these demolition projects accounted for more than half of total acreage lost within downtown Cooper City during that time span ..... In 1992 AEP leased space within One First Plaza condos east of Northeast 2nd Avenue from Ernst & Young while they redeveloped their campus site into mixed use housing dubbed “University Place”; however universityplace never saw any significant progress beyond construction trailers until AEP sold all or substantially all its assets associated with it including University Place property back to Ernst & Young pleaded guilty to federal conspiracy charges relating thereto in 2016 ......... By 2000 there remained just one building remaining Downtown - One First Plaza condo west side NE 2nd Ave - which had long been abandoned since Coca Cola vacated their campus premises years earlier ..... However despite being abandoned for years upon expiration of her lease AEP filed suit against Ernst &Young claiming damages resulting from several months long construction project using eminent domain power employed during redevelopment process ...... After protracted legal battle both sides reached mediation where ultimately an agreement was reached whereby AEP would leave University Place vacant but receive unspecified financial compensations while Ernst &Young must demolish all structures currently occupying property ...... This entire debacle shows how even if developers negotiate reasonable deals under good faith they can still be subject to litigation even if they don't violate any law ...... The last significant development taking place within downtown Cooper City occurred when GAF Corp., former parent company of Carnival Corporation agreed to sell All American Bikes Incorporated (ABI) majority ownership stake dated backto 1978 following decadeslong dispute over control over bike manufacturing operations withincooperative ... later that year BIKES ceased production altogether leaving only three bikes remaining on city streets

In this paper, we will cover some of the history of gun security and how it has changed over time. The first attempt at gun security was around 2500 BC when bronze daggers were used as weapons. However, these Daggers were not very effective and did not protect against knife attacks. The next attempted solution was to create a vault out of rock that could house up to twelve guns. However, this was also unsuccessful and the Daggers started falling into use again as swords became more popular. After another hundred years of trying, someone finally came up with a way to secure firearms within an inch of their life by creating a trigger guard on the muzzle end of each firearm. This worked but only until handguns became more common and were easier to get access to than daggers or rocks. In 1848, John Browning developed his own handgun which he called “the rifle that won the west” because it had greater firepower than any other handgun at the time. This handgun made gun safety much more important and helped change how people viewed firearms in general (especially those who owned them). The introduction of rifles also made it easier for people to find ammo for their handguns- making them even less safe! At this point in history, gun security had really started to improve thanks to technology and innovation! However, there are still some concerns that need to be addressed such as reducing potential harm done by someone who can get your firearm if you do not properly store it or keep it locked up when not being used (especially if you are using your firearm for personal protection).

The Cooper City name may come from William Henry "Bill" Cooper who founded the town in 1892 and also served as its first Mayor. In 1916, Cooper City was incorporated as a town by an act of the Legislature; it remained an unincorporated community until 1959. The area now known as Cooper City was originally part of Biscayne Bay and was home to many sugar plantation owners and their families who used the bay for fishing and sailing trips to Cuba during the 19th century. By 1900, most of these people had moved away, leaving behind their plantations which were mostly leveled or destroyed in tropical storms that year. In 1902, W H "Bill" Cooper purchased 6 acres (2 ha) on Dixie Highway east of current-day Cooper City from Jno Fields for $850 ($ in 2007 dollars). He named his new town after himself – Coopersville – in honor of his purchase location and future business endeavors. Bill soon realized that this would be a very small town due to its limited land availability; he therefore decided to move most of his operations inland so that he could have more space for employees and more storage capacity for goods arriving by boat across Biscayne Bay. In 1909, Jacksonville developer E F Hutton bought 5% interest in Coopersville's charter borough system from Abraham Mears & Son True merchants; This madeCoopersville officially a city on November 3rd 1912 with incorporation under state law #527 A bill establishing Miami-Dade County preceded by 4 months on February 12th 1910 when Assistant Commissioners C F Valderrama & S L Keys filed with Clerk Of Courts #1 James Purdy’s office title “An Act To Incorporate...Coopersville Borough…Under State Rule No 9382” effective immediately upon signature thereof…..Coopersville became one full municipality with all powers vested therein including electioneering privileges enjoyed by townships within limits….A street directory listing all businesses located within First Ward appears dated October 2nd 1914…..Following annexation into Miami Beach Township on April 1st 1915 Comprehensive Plan amendment number 2 resulted which rezoned First Ward into Third Ward….This change resulted in increased competition between Third Ward residents for shopping center/mall space…." (from "The History of Kendall Park: A Community History", pgs 103-104) On December 7th 1915, Hurricane Andrew delivered such force over Coopersville that all bridges over Biscayne Bay were destroyed including those over Cooks Creek which led directly into downtown Coopersville! With no water available to help rebuild any structures or restore infrastructure damage caused during Andrew's passage four days earlier, most citizens quickly returned home again while reconstruction began..Once reopened both bridges allowed travel back and forth between downtown COOPER CITY AND JAX without having to go through hurricane conditions! For about two years postAndrew reconstruction efforts focused primarily on restoring powerlines & repairing storm damage but some new development began right up until 1999 when Hurricane Wilma struck coastal areas causing extensive damage including total loss of roofs to many homes……..The entire south end lost almost 60% or all its housing stock making it one of the worst natural disasters ever experienced along South Florida’s Gulf Coast………… salvage operations continued through early 2009 but there was little hope anyone could recoveranything past 2006….. finally evaluation revealed significant structural issues remaining even after nearly 10 years…………… coopersville has since undergone several revitalization programs designed specifically towards attracting high-end retailers mixed uses are being developed adjacent thereto………." Cooper, donated land for the town and continued to contribute money until his death in 1916. In 1925, the city annexed neighboring Clearwater and began to grow. The population reached 100,000 by 1938 and grew even further after World War II when the United States acquired significant tracts of land in the area. By 1970, Cooper City had become one of the most populous cities in Florida with over 200,000 residents. Today, it remains an economically prosperous community with a diverse mix of residents who are mostly white (90%) and Hispanic (10%).
