This type of weapon light became known as the “Epperson Gun Light” and it continued to be popular until the 1970s when it eventually fell out of favor due to concerns about fire risks associated with its use. Today, gun lights are still occasionally seenused by law enforcement professionals in small towns and rural areas across America. Cooper City, Florida is a city in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. The population was 786 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Miami–Fort Lauderdale–Pompano Beach Metropolitan Statistical Area. Cooper City was founded in 1925 by farmers and bankers who named it after their father-in-law, John A. Cooper, III. The city's first mayor was Josephine Decker King. In 1959, Cooper City became one of twenty‑five cities (along with Alachua Falls and Gainesville) to become a municipio under the then new Puerto Rico Municipal Act No. 992 (Puerto Rico Acts 1959). As a municipio, Cooper City enjoyed certain powers not granted to other municipalities in Puerto Rico including authority over public schools and local firefighting services; however these rights were withdrawn upon annexation by Miami during the 1970s as part of urban renewal plans forMiami‐Dade County
