The name change reflected the company's expanding production capabilities as well as its growing stature within the lumber industry. In 1951, it merged with another lumber company, Pate Brothers Logging Company to form Pate Bros.-Crouse Lumber Company (now known as Pate Bros.-Crouse Lumber Corporation).
