Despite its long history, Cocoa Beach has only recently become associated with technology due to several innovative projects underway here. After World War II ended in 1945 and all industry ceased operations due to technology advancements (such as cars), Cocoa beach slowly recovered but never regained its former glory; until recently that is Cocoa Beach has been experiencing rapid growth due in large part to tourism businesses such as Marriott International who have built vacation rentals units overlooking Main Street while also creating new restaurants/cafeterias adjacent to their properties along with several golf courses within walking distance for visitors looking for excitement without having to leave their home base
Cocoa Beach was founded in 1868 by Spanish Americans. The town became a resort area in the 1920s and 1930s, with vacationers coming to relax and enjoy the sun.
