Cocoa Beach is a small town in southern Florida, located on the north coast of the state. As of the 2010 census, its population was 10,898. It is part of Sarasota-Bradenton metropolitan area. The name "Cocoa" comes from two French words meaning "sugar cane" and "Beach". The first Europeans to visit Cocoa beach were Giovanni da Verrazzano and his crew in 1524. In 1821, Spanish pirate Hernando de Soto named this place San Marcos after San Mateo County's patron saint. In 1886, developers started building vacation homes on the beach for local residents who bought coastal property north and east of downtown Cocoa Beach. By 1915, more than 2,000 people lived in Cocoa Beach proper and an additional 350 lived in surrounding areas such as Pompano Beach and Miramar. On July 1st 1920, the town became a county seat with Anna Maria Island becoming its second incorporated municipality within county limits – following Fort Myers (then Miami). On December 3rd 1925, part of what is now Daytona Beach was annexed by Cocoa Beach as well as Intracoastal Waterway Light House which served as its municipal courthouse until 1998 when it was replaced by the current Main Library building which fronts State Road 3011 just west of Interstate 495/SR 3013 exit #2 (the old Turnpike exit). In 1961 voters passed a referendum to allow Alcoholic Beverage Control Administration stores within city limits with up to six taps on each premise selling beer or wine only; however no stores opened until 1979 when ABC began serving soft drinks too. In 1984 Coca Cola announced their intent to close all their manufacturing plants worldwide except for one at Pompano Beach; however this did not happen because bottling companies moved elsewhere during that time period. By 1990 there were only four restaurants remaining open in downtown Cocoa Beach: Sawgrass Grill & Grille (now Red Lobster), Joe's Crab Shack (now PT Cruiser), Mama Mia's Italian Restaurant (now Denny's) and Surf 'n' turf Sports Bar & Grill which closed its doors effective December 30th 1991 due to financial trouble caused by high hosting rates for college football games hosted at nearby University Park Stadium during those years; however resistance from some residents led to protests against ABC management that successfully delayed construction on a new stadium long enough for that facility to be built without any impact on existing businesses or tourism - retaining much of historic Downtown CocOA BEACH architecture while also adding new businesses including several Applebees restaurant locations across I-495 Exit #5 between SR 3011 North & US 19 South On January 8th 2020 - almost 60 years after incorporation - voters passed another referendum asking if they would like to annex unincorporated Manatee County into the city Limits? A vote occurred on August 12th 2018 rejecting annexation but allowing implementation of Measure M whereby all unincorporated land within City limits will become URBAN land subject to city zoning laws with various restrictions including siting requirements similar to those currently being implemented for most commercial properties within city limits; Commercial property owner’s associations have already voiced opposition citing potential impacts such as higher home prices outside urban boundaries while also reducing access quality parking spots available within closer neighborhoods adjacent unto residential buildings providing many families rely upon non-city streets/arteries for grocery shopping SEE HERE FOR MORE INFO The City Manager has stated that annexation may still occur if voter support reaches 50%+ but no further announcements have been made since then Coca Cola announced their intent to close all their manufacturing plants worldwide except for one at Pompano Beach; however this did not happen because bottling companies moved elsewhere during that time period
In 1892, the first successful airgun was invented. The gun was called the Crosman Krieger and it used compressed air to shoot pellets. It was also the first airgun that could be fired from a distance of up to 25 yards. In 1903, Crosman introduced their next generation of airguns, which were known as the Crosman Model 20. These guns used an electronic trigger system that allowed users to fire multiple rounds at once with ease. By 1915, Crosman had developed their own gas-operated airgun design which they named the Model 21A. This gun became popular among police officers and other law enforcement officials because it was easy to control and shot accurately at distances up to 100 yards. By 1927, Crosman had produced their final iteration of the Model 21A - the Model 21B. This gun used a vari-angle breech block that made it possible for users to shoot pellets in all directions without having to adjust the barrel position every time. In 1934, Crosman announced their intention to discontinue production of their original Krieger type airguns due to low sales rates. However, due in part to continued demand for these guns by law enforcement officials around the world, Crosman eventually resumed production of its Krieger type airguns in 1938. Today, there are still many people who enjoy using traditional old-fashioned single action Air Guns like the Crosman Krieger!
