In 1906, Colonel Hirschfeld's son Charles C. Hirschfeld started Clermont Gun and Ammunition Company to manufacture revolvers and shotguns with hammer-fired projectiles instead of bullets. The company became famous for producing the Model 1908 revolver which it continued to produce until 1923. From 1903 through 1918, Clermont Gun & Ammunition also manufactured several types of shotgun including the pump shotgun, single shot shotguns, double shot shotguns, and skeet guns.

Clermont, Florida is a town in Hillsborough County, Florida, United States. The population was 5,844 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Tampa-St Petersburg-Clearwater Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first Europeans to arrive in what is now Clermont were French Huguenots who came from Aire-sur-Mer in Normandy in 1565. They named their new land "Clermont". By 1800, the area had been divided into two towns: Clermont on the north side and Morenci on the south side. In 1881, an act was passed by the General Assembly of Florida authorising Seminole Indian Removal from Creek Nation lands east of Lake Okeechobee to what are now Polk and Hillsborough counties. This act caused great tension between white settlers and Native Americans because many whites saw Indian Removal as a way for Spain to control America's natural resources while also taking away tribal lands that had been used by their ancestors for hunting and fishing purposes for centuries. In 1892 much of Clermont was destroyed by a tornado which killed more than 100 people and injured over 600 others; it was one of only three tornadoes to hit Tampa Bay during its history. In 1907, Clermont became known as "the most bombed town in America" due to Francesco Baracca's bombing campaign against Italian targets during World War II. After World War II ended, many residents moved out of Clermont because of economic opportunities available outside the city limits such as trucking jobs near Clearwater or hospitality jobs in nearby St Petersburg or Tampa Bay Airport (now Tampa International Airport). Some developers decided to reopened parts of downtownClarmont after being cleaned up following bombings but there remain few businesses open downtown since so much has changed since then including Interstate 75 bypassing town which made it difficult if not impossible for small businesses to survive without receiving government grants/funding which have gradually dwindled over time making it difficult even for some antique dealers/clothing stores/horror movies theaters etc.,to keep up with changes within an ever changing community characterized by high levels OF crime & poverty

The Clermont family has owned the land that makes up present-day Clermont since the 1800s. Today, the community has a population of over 1,500 residents and is home to several businesses including the locally-owned grocery store and post office as well as two schools - one public and one private. The history of this small town dates back to when it was first platted in 1892. On October 3rd of that year, brother Augustus Clermont submitted a plat for what would become known as "Clarmont." At that time, the area consisted of just four homes - three of which were used for farming purposes and one which served as a stop on the old Seminole Trail between Tallahassee and Jacksonville. The fourth home belonged to John Clermont's wife Fannie who lived there with her children until she died in 1865. In 1902, entrepreneur Wm. Henson donated land to help make way for an electric streetcar line between Jacksonville and Tallahassee; this donation helped spur development within present day Clermont. In 1915, Henson also donated money towards construction of what would eventually become School District No 2 - now part of Miami-Dade County. It wasn't until 1957 that word began traveling through the local grapevine about plans by then-Mayor Harry Truman to build a shopping center at blushy Bayou on behalf of United Airlines; this led to much excitement among locals who had grown tired of having nothing close by where they could purchase groceries or ammunition. By 1969, many people had left their rural roots behind in favor of living near city limits; accordingly, Mayor Cesar Chavez called for zoning changes allowing retail development within walking distance of all residences within district boundaries thereby attracting new businesses and helping create today's infrastructure within the community such as its current grocery store/post office complex as well as its two high schools (one public and one private). Today, there are over 1,500 residents spread throughout five villages located within easy commuting distance (including an elementary school) making it one busy place to live!
