That company made rifles for both civilian and military use. They also developed a BB gun called the “Wertz-Cannon”. This machine gun fired shot weighing up to two pounds per round. It was used by the U.S. Marine Corps during World War I. In 1928, Harry Jansen started making bb guns in Clearwater under the name of Gunsite Industries Incorporated (GFI). His company made firearms including airguns, pistols and shotguns as well as launchers for launching BBs into the air. He also manufactured ammunition for these weapons. GFI eventually merged with Winchester Repeating Arms Company in 2002 to form Winchester Ammunition Corporation (Winchester).
Clearwater is a town in Pinellas County, Florida, United States. The population was 8,827 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Tampa–St Petersburg–Lakeland, FL Metropolitan Statistical Area. Clearwater is located on the St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport and has a humid subtropical climate (Cfa). The area that would become Clearwater was first settled by Native Americans in the early 1800s. The name "Clearwater" originated from a nearby creek which became so clear that people could see through it for fishing purposes. In 1822, Captain John Stroud discovered land at what is now Clearwater and named it after his discovery, Clear Water Creek being the onlyname given to the area until 1892 when Webster Parish was established. In 1905, Alexander Hargrave donated 350 acres (160 hectares) of land to Pinellas County for use as a public park known as Hargrave Park. This site would eventually become Clearwater Beach State Park and serve as its central business district with many shops and restaurants dating back to this time including Alligator Alley Seafood Company which still stands today across from State Park headquarters on SR 431/EAST 2nd Street in Clearwater Beachfront Village today’s Hargrave Plaza Shopping Center opened in 1959 with over 100 stores on 5 levels including one skywalk designed by Gulfstream Airlines! The town's growth began slowly but surely as entrepreneurs set up shop hereabouts soon followed by families seeking access to fresh water resources found along US Highway 1A just east of town limits while also developing new homeownership patterns into what we know today! civic organizations such as Rotary Club formed in those early days making our community stronger than ever before! On January 1st 1969 neighboring St Pete changed its City Charter effective immediately taking effect allying itself with Tampa Bay creating an intermunicipal municipality; however Fish & Wildlife Commission continued operations under separate jurisdiction until February 14th when both agencies were combined within one new agency thereby restoring county governmental authority over Fish & Wildlife functions within city boundaries; this event marking “the end” of an era where Fish & Wildlife Commission operated independently within city limits *** Today there are more than 180 businesses open ranging from small mom and pop operations serving local cuisine right up to international chains like Starbucks coffee chain enjoying robust success here EVER since they moved into their current location adjacent to state park headquarters! Clearwater is a city in the state of Florida, located on the Gulf of Mexico. The population was 362 at the 2010 census. Clearwater is known for its clear waters and white sand beaches which are popular with visitors from around the world. The city has a humid subtropical climate, typical of Florida. The first inhabitants of Clearwater were fishermen who came to the area during the mid-19th century looking for fish stocks that had been depleted by various hookers in Mobile Bay. Fishermen would take whatever they could find as there was not much else available in these waters. In 1892, Clearwater became a municipality, and by 1907 it had a population of over 1,000 people. In 1932, Clearwater divers discovered what may have been the largest sunken treasure in history when they found an ironclad shipwreck off Clearwater Beach. This wreck contained more than $5 million worth of gold coins and jewelry from around the world! At this time, it was believed that this discovery was lost forever until someone finally found it again in 1984 when dredging operations took place on an old sugar plantation near Orient Point Naval Air Station. The industry that once thrived in Clearwater has since all but disappeared due to changing trends in maritime trade and competition from other cities alongFlorida's Gulf Coast such as Jacksonville and Pensacola which developed larger ports to handle larger volumes of traffic. However, some commercial activity still takes place through fishing companies which operate out of local dockside facilities along Cuba Road (the former military supply corridor). Many tourists come to visit this reminder of old times while also enjoying supplies like seafood from local fishermen or shopping at local businesses close to shoreline access points where fresh seafood is available year-round
