Casselberry is a small town in Polk County, Florida, United States. The population was 1,752 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Orlando–Kissimmee–Sanford Metropolitan Statistical Area. Casselberry was founded in 1868 by John and Anna Casselberry. The first post office in Casselberry was established in 1870. In 1907, Casselberry had a population of 914. In 1951, the town's population increased to 1,752 when it annexed the neighboring town of Lake Wales. The area that now includes Casselberry was first settled by Seminole Indians in the early 1800s and became known as "Tonto" because of its high concentration of tomahawk-wielding warriors. A white man named Prentiss developed land adjacent to what is now Casselberry and built a cabin there in 1828. In 1869 John and Anna Casselbery arrived from Illinois with their two children to open a store on US 11/US 421 (now State Road 7) near present day cassellbery intersection.. following this success they opened another store on which they continue To this day still running businesses here including mentionin Granny’s Bakery & Cafe across from Post Office
