In 1928 Hogg died leaving his fortune to his son-in-law James Laughlin which gaveCallaway its current name: Jaxon Laughlin Memorial National Golf Course Company Limited Partnership In 1933 by order of President Franklin D Roosevelt, all public golf courses were put on probation due to their increasing use for professional players during the Great Depression; however this did not prevent many people from coming to play at local golf courses such as little known Ocala Hills Country Club or even better known Plantation Country Club on Indian Key Boulevard near Amelia Island because they could still be played without any penalty whatsoever under section 9014(a)of Title 14 United States Code The second major event that took place at Callaway was The Masters Tournament which was held there from 1934 until 1976 After World War II ended on September 2nd 1945 by order of President Harry S Truman all public golf courses were reopening with immediate effect This meant that now anyone who wanted to play could whether they had a driver or an iron but also these new courses required membership dues which became very expensive so many people stopped playing competitively altogether There are several theories about why this happened some say it was because post war depression wasn't getting as bad as everyone thought it would be and also because professionals began doing more travelling than ever before so tournaments started moving away from big cities towards smaller towns like Jacksonville where they could continue being played without issue . Another theory suggests that governments may have been afraid that if these places got too popular again they would become uncontrollable thumbs down areas so therefore they opened up these special regulations
