It is unknown when the first shooting range was established in Callaway, but it likely began operation around 1907-1908. In 1924, a shotgun was registered in Callaway and used for target practice by the populace of Notesville and surrounding areas. The next year, 1925, saw the opening of what is now known as "The Rifle Range" on North Main Street in town. This rifle range functioned from 1925 until 1957 when it closed its doors due to lack of users or funding. From 1927 until 1949, ammunition sales at The Rifle Range were handled by Roy Jorgenson who also ran the store which housed a blacksmith shop adjacent to the range on North Main Street (later renamed "The Gun Shop"). Ammunition sales at The Gun Shop totaled more than 1 million rounds during this time period! In 1949, Jorgensen sold his business to Ewing & Associates who continued operations at The Gun Shop until 1971 when they moved their business across I-75 into new facilities off White Sands Boulevard east of town. At that point, Ammo Unlimited LLC became operational and continues to operate today! In 1974-1975 another store called "Burgers 'N' Beers" opened up on West Commerce Drive just outside of town limits with an extensive firearms inventory including handguns and shotguns! Burgers 'N' Beers operated for several years until 1977 when it closed its doors due to increased competition from other stores within miles of town limits as well as statewide recession activities which impacted local businesses negatively. It should be noted that according to police reports from the early 1960s through 1973 there have been no reported shootings at any local gun ranges located within Town Of Callaway boundaries!!

Callaway is a small town in Polk County, Florida. The population was 9,853 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Orlando–Kissimmee–Bay City, Florida Metropolitan Statistical Area. Callaway was originally called "Hendersonville", but the name was changed to Callaway after a local landowner threatened to sue if it remained unchanged. The Callaway post office opened in 1892 and closed in 1969. Callaway Baptist Church was established in 1925 and remains active today. The first store in Callaway was a general store on Center Street named "The General". It closed in 1951 and reopened as a convenience store known as "The Gents" in 1957. A large shopping center located just east of town at I-4 and US-1 opened in 1984, which served as the primary means ofatinum sales for most of its years; however, since 2009 it has been used primarily for housing development purposes. Callway Golf Course No 1 opened on November 6, 1904; it became one of the country's earliest private golf courses when it became available to play after being purchased by George Brentwood from his brother Harry Brentwood for $1 million dollars (). The course has never been played publically but has hosted many major tournaments including The Masters Tournament (2002), PGA Championship (1991), U.S Open (1994), British Open (2002) and French Open (2004). On October 5th, 2006 USDGC donated their winning par-5 hole 18 to the community at no cost urchin or any other reward given out that day! In early 2007 they also donated their winning par-3 hole 2nd from last which led to much excitement within the community because this gave them bragging rights going into next year's event! There have been several donations over time such as trees that were cut down so that tee boxes could be built on them or even ceremonial bricks left behind with an inscription such as “Here Lies USGA’s 2004 Champions – Calloway” This continues along with past donations like pictures or trophies with an inscription still attached such as “PATRICK KENNEDY 3RD OWNER OF CALLAWAY GOLF COURSE - HONESTY AND SPORTSMANSHIP PAYING ATTENTION” Many events are organized throughout the year where money is put towards various charities depending on what is happening locally within that particular month/year

Callaway is a town in Monroe County, Florida, United States. The population was 1,711 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Jacksonville Metropolitan Statistical Area. Callaway has been called "the heart of the Sunshine State" because of its consistently warm weather and easy access to major metropolitan areas in Florida. The name "Callaway" apparently comes from a cabin built by Captain Andrew Calloway on his plantation near what is now Callaway Beach at the mouth of Muskegon River. The first white settlers in this area were David Denton and family who arrived in 1786. They named their land for General James Wilkinson who had commanded British forces during the American Revolution as Colonel James Wilkinson's regiment fought against the Continental Army under George Washington. When Wilkinson's unit was disbanded after the war he moved to Florida and founded Fort Walton Beach on Santa Rosa Island (now part of Port St Lucie) which became an important seaport on Tampa Bay. In 1835, Senator John Witherspoon introduced a bill that would annex all of Monroe County to createJacksonville Township so Jacksonville could have easier access to Interstate 95 and other mainland destinations bypassing Fort Walton Beach. By 1840, about 150 people lived in what is now Callaway along with 10 or 12 transient huts used for storage and service during winter months when there was no water available from either river or well. A store operated by Nicholas Cavanaugh opened on US 98 between present day White Sands Boulevard and Gulfstream Drive in 1882 which served as both a grocery store and post office until it burned down in 1942 while serving as headquarters for First Air Force Base Camp Lejeune outside Jacksonville In 1907, Charles Fenton bought some land east of where Callaway now stands from JB Hickey who owned most of eastern Monroe County at that time including what are now parts of Clearwater, Pinellas Park, Saint Petersburg, Dunedin, Melbourne Gardens/Port Charlotte etc., creating one of America's largest inland seaside communities – known today primarily for its large sharecropping plantations around Clearwater Bay known collectively as Fennimore Farms where cotton was grown until 1917 when production stopped due to World War I aerial bombing raids; however much more recent development has taken place around downtownClearwater since then such as new retail stores like Walmart (opened downtown 2015), Reynolds Tobacco Store chain store (opened Downtown 2016) with several restaurants including Falafel House open since late 2017 adjacent to Citizens Bank Arena which hosts various events throughout year like Seminole Row Race Week; also Shopping Center anchored by Macy’s located just east side main street contains several high-end stores including Saks Fifth Avenue department store outfitter Rack & Shoe Warehouse across street featuring Menard’s Hardware & Apparel It should be noted that not all development took place within city limits but many iconic properties like Clearwater Bay Bridge remain largely unmodified except for a few new buildings erected over time such as City Hall Annex completed in 1984 replaced an earlier structure dating back to 1868 which included a jail cells(later renamed Municipal Court Annex) used by county commissioners prior to1900 The early history of Callaway can be traced back even further than that!
