Col Cmdr Hap Arnold's forces at Ashington airfield near Newcastle Upon Tyne England; Maj Gen James Moseley's 3rd Infantry Division attacking Dieppe, France; Capt Charles Aiken's 1st Naval Marine Brigade attacking Guadalcanal then Samoa; Sgt Francis Purdy's 7th Marines assaulting Leyte . In 1963 when Interstate 4 was built through central FL one of its primary purposes was providing an expressway bypassing Bradenton so that development could move forward without interruption thereby preserving some important cultural resources like 10 Mile Riverfront Park where Native American Chief Osceola Jr hunted white men for sport about 25 miles upstream from town on US 98 just outside Naples until 1821 when he ceded his land to Spain under Treaty of Miraflores . In 2000 Hurricane Wilma impacted much of central and eastern FL causing significant damage including $8 billion worth of insured losses statewide as well as hundreds of arrests , injuries and fatalities throughout Polk county alone with most serious impacts concentrated along Intracoastal Waterway between Southwest Ft Myers/Cape Coral and Jacksonville – more than doubling beach closures ; power outages across much of southeast FL lasting several days affecting almost every community within two blocks with median home values dropping 50% or more; total storm surge up to 12 feet inundating numerous communities inland especially along I-4 corridor above water line . In light all these events combined visitation numbers forBradenton increased 5 fold from 2000-2010 !! By 2014 most residents living within 2 miles (3 kilometers) of any big city had experienced some form OF DISASTER !!

The city has a population of over 153,000 people and covers a total area of just under 44 square miles. The first inhabitants of what would become Bradenton were Native Americans who lived near where Tampa now stands. In 1836 Spanish explorer Hernando de Soto discovered land that would house future cities such as Tampa and St Petersburg. After exploration failed to find any valuable resources in what would become Bradenton, settlers began arrive in large numbers beginning with Isaac Smith in 1847. By 1860 there were over 100 families living in what is now downtownBradenton. By 1865 95% of all businesses had been built within one kilometer of downtown and services like schools, churches, post office andBT Telegraph had all been established within less than two years! On December 12th 1867 Captain James Bradstreet founded what would become known as Jacksonville Landing which later became part of Tampa Bay Area! When Captains William Troup (1811-1868)and John Fitch (1829-1912) sailed their brigantine USS Constitution into Miami Harbor on October 15th 1795 for repairs following an unsuccessful attempt at circumnavigating Americaexistent trade between Great Britain and Spainwas resumed! On September 16th 1800 Ulysses S Grant became Presidentofthe United States when his predecessor George Washington resigned effective October 14th! On December 12th 1867 General John Pemberton laid down plans for a military fortification called Fort Brooke on Yacht Island adjacent to present day Live Oak Boulevard! Live Oak Boulevard was completed nine months later on April 6th 1870!! At this time Fort Brooke consisted of four rifle ranges each capable of firing twenty rounds per minute; two battery positions; barracks for 1,500 soldiers; storehouses for munitions; wharfage facilities; ferry landing with access to both manatee Keysand Indian River
