The Boynton Beach Shooting Target Holder Company was founded in 1971 by the late Mr. Tom Doherty. The company is located on South Federal Highway in Boynton Beach, Florida and specializes in the manufacture and sale of shooting target holders. The early years of the company were spent concentrating on small batch production with a focus on quality control. While this focus has always been important, it also allowed for experimentation with new materials, manufacturing processes and product design. Boynton Beach, Florida is a city in Palm Beach County, Florida. The population was 11,827 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Orlando–Kissimmee–Sanford metropolitan area. Boynton Beach is located on the Atlantic Coast of Florida and has a maritime history dating back to Jacksonville's early days as an important shipping point for pirates and smugglers. The first recorded mention of Boynton Beach dates back to 1785 when Captain John Cook passed through this area while exploring the Florida peninsula. He noted that "a place called Boothbay" lay between Jupiter Inlet and Stonington Island; he also mentioned "a small bay afford[ing] landing for vessels called Bowen's Bay". later that year, active French pirates anchored at "Bowen's Bay" after they had captured two British merchant ships off Jupiter Inlet. Captain James Cook sailed by way of this region in 1793 during his third voyage circumnavigating North America and returned with news of new landsdiscovered by explorer George Vancouver during his second trip around Cape Horn in 1804-5. After his return from his third round trip around North America, Cook named this area Banks Peninsula in honor of Admiral Sir John Banks who had been captainhip under him on HMS Resolution during those voyages. In 1812, Henry Key Intendent William Henslow built Fort Key West near present day Boynton Beach as part of efforts to protect American shipping interestsadeskippin away from Spanish pirate ships operating out of Havana harbor. A fortification was also erected at Boca Raton which served as a naval base until 1898 when it became known as Fort Myers Naval Station (later Naval Air Station Miami). From here Ulysses S Grant landed troops at Fort Donelson on April 15th 1863duringthe Battle of Nashville while General Sherman made his famous march through Chattanooga Valley toward Atlanta on July 16th followed by Union forces marching into Mobile Alabama the next day before reaching Johns Hopkins University where he delivered a speech praising American industry before departing for Washington D C on July 20th 1863.. On December 14th 1893, residents voted 3-1 to become a city charter town within Palm Beach County based upon their desire for more efficient government services than what existed in neighboring Broward County where only white citizens could vote or hold office . On January 1st 1912, the name change from `Boothbay` to `Boynton BEACH`. On November 15th 1958, Boynton BEACH achieved municipal status with its own City Council - making it one of three cities (alongside Daytona Beach and Ft Lauderdale) with full mayoral authority representation including taxation and spending authority within their respective county governments - paralleling Oak Cliff/Dallas TX which achieved such status in 1962. By 1990 there were over 12K people living in manatee habitat within City Limits alone! An accompanying article published that same year reported: "Today [Boynton BEACH] offers activities providing everyday citizens with an opportunity to feel like they are top dogs because they are city dwellers"... Prominence has come not just from professional football players but also business owners such as Realtor Danica Kirka who opened her own office two doors down from USF’s campus; restaurateurs Tom Clancy’s Irish Pub & Grille owner Rick Weissman whose popular seafood restaurant chains include Compass Point Resort And Marina; golf course designer Phil Mickelson’s 8-hole layout designed primarily for private events... many local businesses have seen success due to growth potential brought about by new development restrictions placed on retirees living adjacent to aging neighborhoods."
The Boynton Beach area was originally settled by the Seminole people in the early 1800s. In 1851, a group of British investors purchased land in what is now Boynton Beach and named it Fort Pierce. The town was chartered on February 2, 1855 and began to grow quickly. By 1860, Boynton Beach had a population of just over 100 people. By 1898, the town had grown to 1,500 residents and was known for its natural resources such as salt water fishing and Palm Springs oil production. In 1917, Boynton Beach became a city and incorporated with a population of around 12,000 people. The city continued to grow until it reached its current size of about 50,000 people in 1990. During the late 1960s and 1970s, Boynton Beach experienced significant economic growth thanks to its strong tourism industry and development of an entertainment complex including several casinos. In recent years, however,Boynton Beach has been facing some competition from nearby Hollywood which has seen increased development along Broward Boulevard as well as new businesses opening up in downtown Miami-Dade County
