As such, most businesses within the city limits were closed or moved out when that portion of town annexed by Jacksonville to form the new city limits in 1961-1963; however many residents kept their homes within the town boundaries thereafter through annexation by other municipalities which took place over time (e.g., unincorporated communities which line Putnam Beach Boulevard). According to the 2000 US Census, there were 10,744 people living in Bonita Springs Township with 7% Hispanics or Latinos living alone and 93% White Non-Hispanic Citizens according to report filed with the US Government census bureau 98 years ago today! What we do know now since then thru social media channels etc...from different generations hereabouts is that every family here has contributed something big & wonderful thru musicanship (& ballroom dancing!), food preparation (& Italian cooking), service work (& many more!) so our township could enjoy some much needed peace & quiet while still having access to everything plenty close at hand including major shopping malls (Westminster Mall/Zion National Living Center) only about 5 miles away!
