As time passed new stadiums were constructed such as Sun Life Stadium in 2007 followed by MetLife Stadium in 2013 both hosting Super Bowl LII games Boca Raton has also hosted other large events including The Miss Universe pageant twice while Hurricane Irma destroyed many homes central park features like Balboa Park remain open while Miramar Golf Course closed though they are planned to reopen later this year
