At that time, pistols were still considered to be valuable items and were not meant to be stored easily on store shelves. To keep these pistols safe, new gun safes were designed specifically for this purpose. Thesesafes would usually consist of heavy steel Doors with locks that could only be opened by someone with a key. The Safes also had to meet specific safety requirements such as having a trigger guard and safety catch that prevented the pistol from being fired if it was accidentally dropped or taken off the shelf. In 1949, America’s first gun safe company was founded in Auburndale by John Hennessey and his brother-in-law, Ernest Stephenson. This company became known as The Gun Safe Company and continued production until 1978 when it merged with another company which did not survive into history. Auburndale is a small town in Polk County, Florida, United States. The population was 1,813 at the 2010 census. It lies on the east side of the Apalachicola River and is part of the Tallahassee–Clearwater metropolitan area. The first permanent settler in Auburndale was James A. Duncan in 1851. In 1892, John Pritchard platted what is now Auburndale and named it after his home town of Ayrshire, Scotland. The name change event took place because Auburndale had become too large to be called Ayrshire and was being called "Auburn" by some residents. In 1898, two brothers - Wm. Halsey McDowell and Jno. Bigham - opened a general store in downtown Auburndale which became one of the most successful businesses in town during that era. They were also responsible for developing much of downtown's infrastructure including the original courthouse building which still stands today (renamed courthouse square). A post office was established in Auburndale on May 8, 1899; it continued until 1958 when it changed its name to Tallahassee Regional Post Office (now known as USPS Tallahassee postal district #4). In 1907, Ebenezer Cooke built a sawmill on Paynes Creek near what is now highway 82/87 interchange; this mill continues to operate to this day as an agricultural production center providing jobs for many people from throughout central Florida who come to work there every week during summer months. Municipal services were first provided by three men: Jno Bigham as city clerk; Wm Halsey McDowell as treasurer; and Ebenezer Cooke as superintendent of schools (1907-1909). Under their guidance, many new buildings were constructed including churches (First Baptist Church dates back to 1904), fire hall (1898), library & school annexes (1909), plus more public works such as streetlights and sidewalks which continue to serve today! In 1928 the city erected its first ever jail – funded by an individual gift from Fenton Hardwick – with capacity for 24 inmates! This jail remains operational today and is used only for law enforcement purposes! On January 16th 1915 during World War I local citizens raised $423 dollars through selling subscriptions to "The Evening Sentinel" newspaper in order provide necessary supplies for war efforts including weapons availability etc.; this money helped support local military units engaged in combat overseas! Aftermath of WWI left many rural families struggling so taxilaption rates increased fees doubled effective July 1st 1917 resulting significant impact on those communitiesDue largely to high taxes rates levied against agriculture due primarily theretoinflationary forces effects prices have since decreased significantly while job opportunities remain scarce however they are increasing trend

Some safes are designed as single-file cabinets with multiple entry points, while others are made to be multi-functional, such as those that can be opened from the inside or outside. The first gun safe designs were patented in 1792 by Nicholas-Jacques Conte. A total of six different design patents were granted to various inventors throughout the 1800s in order to improve on the basic design of the original ConteSafe. In 1826, John Brougham patented a Safe which could be opened from either side and had two compartments with keyholes at each end. This design was later improved by John Cockerill in 1848 and renamed the Brougham Safe (after British Prime Minister Sir John Brougham). It is interesting to note that these early Safes did not feature locking mechanisms like our modern safes do – they only had keyholes on one side so that they could be operated from either side. The first commercial gun safe company was Brown & Williamson in 1861. They produced a number of models before eventually succumbing to competition from more well-funded companies such as Colt & Peacock and George Washington Mutual in 1881. The industry went through several changes during this time, with some companies becoming successful while others closed down completely due to costs or competition from other businesses. One of the most successfulgunsafe manufacturers during this period was Delco Industries Ltd., whichproduced a variety ofsafes including both traditional locked cabinets and removable “smart” safes which could be opened using an electronic code or RFID reader. However, Delco ultimately failed commercially due to competitors better marketing and innovation within the safe market itself). During World War II, many Americans turned to arming themselves with firearms for protection purposes. Gun safes became popular again after the war because new technologies allowed for easier access to firearms without having them stored inside a cabinet like previous generations did. Many manufacturers emerged during this time including Winchester Repeating Arms Company (Winchester) and Federal Firearms Corporation (FFC). Looking back on the history of gun safes, there are a few key events that happened. The second event that occurred with gun safes is when they began being used to store ammunition. Gun safes were originally designed to hold just rounds of ammunition but over time they began becoming equipped with gunslingers racks and other storage options so individuals could store more rounds without fear of losing them. Over time, each additional store resulted in better security for firearms since thieves would have less difficulty accessing Firearms than ammo stores did at the beginning of this trend.
Auburndale is a town in Monroe County, Florida, United States. The population was 1,812 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Jacksonville–Boca Raton metropolitan area and lies on the northeast coast of Palm Beach County. The first permanent settler in Auburndale was James Burtis who arrived in 1836. From 1840 to 1846, Daniel Boone lived near present day Auburndale and had his home built on what is now US-1 (the same road he traveled when describing his trips through Central Florida). Auburndale became a post office in 1852 and it has been continuously inhabited since then. In 1907, the First National Bank building was erected on Main Street by local citizens with the intention of starting a bank there. However, this project never got off the ground and within a few years it too had gone out of business. In 1925, A & W Hagerty Store opened its doors for business on Railroad Avenue across from Court House Square; this store would become one of Auburndales most well known businesses throughout its history. In 1957, during Hurricane Andrew's landfall over SouthFlorida, damage caused by the storm totaled almost $2 million dollars which made it one of only a handful towns or counties in Florida to experience such extensive damage during that particular time period. As result of damages done to many homes as well as infrastructure that wasn't rebuilt until after Hurricane Andrew passed away less than two years later (in August 1992), Auburndale slowly began developing into what it is today - an established community with wide commercial corridors and several high-end properties located within easy walking distance of each other
