She met him while living in Stonington and their courtship began when she asked him to drive her around town in his horse buggy. They married on October 16, 1836 at First Baptist Church in Stonington by Rev. Hosea Chandler officiating. Only two years later they moved into Kirby House where they continued to live until their death three years later on March 2nd 1840 at age 58 years old due to pneumonia brought on by an epidemic at the time which impacted all parts of America including Tampa Bay Area Flint Hills They are buried next door together inside the original building still standing today within easy walking distance of each other’s gravesite! Their loss was keenly felt throughout eastern Florida as they were well known philanthropists who contributed greatly both financially and emotionally to local causes across multiple states prior to their deaths especially given that white women then did not enjoy full legal rights under U.S. law until after their deaths

In 1818 Governor Andrew Jackson appointed George Rogers Clarke as Superintendent of Indian Affairs for Florida; during Clarke's tenure (1819-24) he developed Altamonte Springs into one of Jacksonville's most thriving areas. In 1860 Seminole War veteran Jeptha Boggs purchased much of present dayAltamonteSprings from General James Hernando de Soto y Costilla; Boggs renamed it Winter Park after his home state - North Carolina -Winter Park had been during Reconstruction following America's Civil War..
