Gun sights have been a part of the American landscape for over two centuries. The first true gun sights were designed by George Washington in 1775 and became known as "Washington's Muzzle." Gun sights continue to be developed and improved, with today's technology making them some of the most advanced on the market. One of the earliest designs for gun sights was created by Nicholas-Jacques Conte in 1795. This design featured a dial with 12 different positions that could be customized to fit any shooter. As gun sighting devices evolved, so too did their functionality and accuracy. By 1824, Congress had passed an act titled "An Act for Regulating Firearms," which provided for the regulation of firearms by state legislatures. In 1835, Congress passed an act titled "An Act to Provide For The Regulation And Use Of Guns," which again regulated firearms by state legislatures. In 1839, another act called "An Act To Authorize The Manufacture And Sale Of Firearms" was passed, which provided for the registration of firearms and made it illegal to sell or possess any firearm without a license from a properly functioning government regulator. As more states began regulating firearms,ituals such as hunting and target shooting gradually lost their appeal and were replaced by handguns as the primary form of Carry Firearm ownership in America. Gun sight design continued to evolve during this time period; one example is the iconic Four Round Sight design patented in 1889 by John Browning. This design featured four round circles that could be adjusted independently to provide adjustable magnification for larger targets or game birds at close range. The popularity of handguns led to increased demand for accurate gunsights; accordingly, early patent drawings showsgunsight manufacturers creating ranges specifically designed just for handguns (such as Colt's Model 1911). Eventually these rifles would become known as machineguns due to their firepower capabilities supercedes anything a human hand could manage when aiming at targets at long range! The first known gun sights in Middletown were a set of iron sights that were placed on the outside of a cannon barrel. These were used by artillery officers to aim their cannons at targets. The first guns in Middletown were small caliber cannon, and so the iron sight was not very effective. In 1802, a French officer named François-René Lefèvre created an improved iron sight called the Lefèvre telescope which allowed for better target sighting with small calibers of cannons. This allowed for Middletown to become one of the most important gun ports in Delaware during the late eighteenth century.
Middletown is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Kent County, Delaware, United States. The population was 1,744 at the 2010 census. It is located on the Delaware River just upstream of Dover. The name Middletown is derived from "Middletown Township," which was organized in 1788. The township was named for Representative John Middletown of Pennsylvania. In 1814, a group of farmers located here petitioned the U.S. Congress to be placed within what would become Kent County because they believed that their land would benefit from the growth of the city of Dover and its commerce on the riverfront. On February 3, 1815, President James K. Polk approved the creation of Kent County with a total area of . In 1820, Middletown became one of three villages in what would become Sussex County; it did not receive full town status until 1888 when it joined Sussex as a borough in 1905. On December 5, 1882, during Delaware's Centennial Celebration national celebration (the first such commemoration honoring America's 150th birthday), Middletown became oneidasville when all other settlements within present-day Sussex and Kent counties united to form one municipality under that name pursuant to Act No. 9014 § 2(a). The incorporation took effect on December 6th following passage by both houses of Congress authorising it without referendum or vote by residents thereof as provided for in said act itself; this action being taken despite objections raised by some who contended that incorporation would only result in an increase in taxation burdens for those already taxed heavily hitherto while adding little new development potential whatsoever to either county thereby overwhelmingopposition and denying effective representation thereto at any level save through apportionment pursuant to law existing at that time respecting real estate interests therein subject thereto prior annexation into these respective counties subsequent disposition thereof upon final determination by special session convened thereunder having regard thereto duly considered hereafter at a future date otherwise known as "Annexation Day" hereinbefore mentioned...thus proclaiming formally before God and all men present assembled this day…that parts originally included within [now] insoluble boundary lines between Sussex and Kent Counties were properly annexed unto said respective counties thereby forming one contiguous whole hereby acknowledged by all concerned hereinbefore aforesaid...and withal declaring this day as An Annexation Day throughout this entire territory now embraced therein...!
The modern handgun was designed and fielded in the late 1800s by American gunmakers. One of the first handguns to be fielded in a major wars was the Colt Pistol, which was produced from 1892 to 1899. The early pistols were constructed out of brass or iron, but eventually all types of firearms were available using this material. The design of handguns began with simple sights that could be calibrated for target shooting. A variety of sighting devices such as reflex sights, reticle turrets, sun louvers and windage/ elevation sights have been employed over time to improve accuracy and decrease recoil. One important development during the 19th century was the introduction of muzzleloading firearms into military arsenals. This new technology allowed armies to acquire large quantities of rounds without having to worry about ammunition shortages or deploying troops with outdated equipment. In 1856, John Browning patented his breech-loading rifle, which became known as the Browning Rifle. This weapon was used by both sides in several wars before it fell out of use in the mid-19th century. Around 1840, Nicholas-Jacques Conte developed a system for manufacturing barrel clamps for cannons called "Conte's Fittings". This innovation allowed artillery units to attach barrels directly onto their cannon mounts without having to remove them each time they were reloaded

Middletown is a small town in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 2,527 at the 2010 census. It was founded in 1785 and named after Middletown, England. Middletown is located on the Susquehanna River east of the borough of Wilkes-Barre. Middletown is bordered by Clearfield Township to the north, Northumberland Township to the east, Elkton Borough to the south and Westmoreland Township to the west. The first European settler in what is now Middletown was Nicholas Cundy who arrived in 1785 and named it "Middlesex". He also built a cabin on this site which he later sold to John Armstrong. In 1814 Edward Henery bought land from Cundy which he renamed "Middlesex" after his home country of England. In 1821 George Stephenson donated land for a school and erected a mansion on its present site as the first schoolhouse in what is now Middletown (it burned down in 1857). The building still stands today and can be seen from Interstate 95 (I-95) near Rocksville. In 1912 Thomas Edison donated land for an electric lighting plant which became known as Edison Park; it still stands today and houses various businesses such as Macy's Department Store and Sears & Roebuck Department Store. In 1926 Pte Alvin Jorgensen enlisted in World War I when he served with Company G Fifth Regiment Pennsylvania Reserve Infantry at Lackawanna Heights; he was posthumously awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor for his heroism during that conflict.
