The state Legislature allowed rifles and shotguns beginning on November 15, 1868. In 1903, the legislature passed a bill that made handguns illegal and limited rifle and shotgun sales to those owning three shotguns or more per household.
Norwalk, Connecticut is a town in Fairfield County, Connecticut, United States. The population was 507 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Hartford–Worcester–New Haven Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town is located on the eastern bank of the West Branch of the Farmington River and its name means "The Place where One Can Work." Norwalk was first settled by English colonists in 1636. The town's boundaries were established in 1792 when Fairfield County was organized. Norwalk became an incorporated village in 1822. In 1834, it merged with other villages to form what is now Fairfield Township. In 1907, Norwich purchased 5 square miles (12 km²) of land from the townships of Easton and Whitney for $2,000; this land forms much of today's downtown area. Norwalk has a rich history that dates back to its earliest settlers. They arrived during the Dutch fur trade period and built their first homes near present-day Norwich Hospital and Main Street as early as 1636. Charles Goodyear erected his first mill on Round Pond in 1793; this began Norwalks growth as a canal port for shipping goods upriver to New York City and beyond. By 1800, over 100 mills had been erected along both sides of the river due to strong demand from traders and consumers alike who preferred quality products from local papermakers such as Norwalk Paper Company (founded in 1801). In 1834, Norwich annexed neighboring villages of Easton and Whitney into its city limits; this change allowed Norwalk more control over its economy which helped spur development around Canal Street between South Main Street and Vermont Avenue until then known as "the heart" or "commercial district". Today you can find manyitage buildings such as the old post office building on State Street dating back to 1835 or houses constructed during prohibition like Al Capone’s “Yankee Stadium” nightclub which opened in 1933 inside current day Park Plaza Shopping Center next to Subway sandwich shops

This difference in projectile speed also caused increased accuracy for certain types of ammunition used with artillery platforms such as battleships and warships. Additionally, rifling was also beneficial for shotguns because it helped create patterns that could be fired more rapidly than without rifling. This allowed shotguns to fire shots faster than pistols or rifles when used against targets beyond arm’s reach
