The Danbury Gun Sight Company was founded in 1881 by three men from Danbury, Connecticut - Charles Fenton, John W. Goudreau, and George P. Kline. The company became a local success for its innovative sights and products that helped make firearms more accurate and efficient. In 1892, the company was acquired by Winchester Repeating Arms Company and production moved to Winchester's manufacturing plant in Salt Lake City, Utah. In 1923, the company changed its name to Winchester Repeating Arms Corporation (WRA) and began producing chambered rifles with a new revolving barrel called the “Super Service”. This product revolutionized rifle fire because it allowed shooters to keep track of their rounds by moving the barrels around inside their guns so they could keep an accurate count of how many rounds were fired throughout a session. After World War II ended, WRA produced many different types of firearms including rifles, shotguns, handguns and even air-guns. These developments marked the beginning of modern firearm design which has seen continual refinement over time culminating in today’s advanced weapon systems.

Today, there are multiple small businesses that continue to thrive due toDanburys location within easy access of major metropolitan areas: Amtrak Train Station just outside town limits allows for easy access to both New York City and Boston; local restaurants abound;danburys infrastructure has been utilized for medical research; prominent institutions based in nearby Bridgeport include Yale University (campus), Brown University (), Fairleigh Dickinson University (), Rockefeller University () - all within minutes' walk or drive; big box stores like Macy's ()and JCPenney() are also easily accessible from town limits. One recent initiative that has helped revive downtown Danbury is called "Townsquare",which focuses on bringing together various city governments with an aim towards creating a more unified spirit throughout the community while encouraging entrepreneurship among its residents ().
