Danbury, CT is a town in southwestern Connecticut that straddles the border of New England and Long Island. It was originally settled by English colonists in 1664 as part of the Plymouth Colony. The town became a consolidated city on April 14, 1907. Danbury’s history can be traced back to 1664 when English settlers arrived in what is now Danbury from Plymouth Colony. At the time, this area lay within the jurisdiction of Saybrook Township. In 1737, Saybrook Township was merged into Danbury Township and it has remained an integral part of the town ever since. The first gun mags were established in Danbury in 1868 by John Smedley and his brother-in-law, Ezekiel Goffman. The first issue of the Gazetteer of Connecticut (now known as The Hartford Courant) featured an article about gun mags with photographs accompanying each entry chronicling their establishment and use throughout the state at that time. This type of publication would continue to exist until 1915 when it was replaced by The New Haven Register which continues today as one of Connecticut’s leading newspapers

Fixed gun magazines fall into two categories: those that have a top cover that flips open when you insert a cartridge into one of the chambers; and those that do not have a top cover but instead require you to remove an insert before inserting a cartridge into one of the chambers. Detachable gun magazines typically include both top covers and inserts so that you can easily change rounds while on duty or during transport.

In recent years Danbury has seen an increase in entrepreneurship with several start-ups coming up around technology including social media site Townsquare petitioning for a ballot measure that would have allowed live streaming of municipal meetings through Facebook Live
On November 3, 1692, the town of Danbury became a part of the new Colony of Connecticut. The town's first mayor was Samuel Adams with Nathan Hale as his assistant. On December 8, 1692, the General Court voted to name it "Danbury" in honor of John Danforth and Nicholas-Jacques Cartier.
