At that time there were no streets or public buildings within downtown; all business district took place on either side of Broad Street between State Street and Merrick Road which today forms First Avenue South between Broadway and Park Row Streets! The growth rate during this time was much faster than anywhere else on Long Island because steamboats traveled constantly up & down the sound making trade possible; businesses flourished due not just to easy access but also increasing competition Riverside Brewery established itself as Americas 1st brewery with over 25 years production records still standing today
