Ansonia, Connecticut is a town in the United States of America. It is located in Hartford County and has a population of just over 33,000 people. The town was founded in 1795 by General Anson as part of the Connecticut Colony. The first gun target in Ansonia was built by Captain Samuel Collier and opened to the public on July 1st, 1814. From then until 1895, Ansonia had its own rifle range which could be found at the junction of Highways 9-11 and State Road 100. Since 1995, when it became part of the National Rifle Association (NRA) affiliated state of CT, gun targets have been available for use at local ranges throughout Connecticut. NRA members are able to purchase tickets that allow them to take advantage of these opportunities to shoot an unarmed target at distances up to 50 yards using appropriate ammunition. Ticket prices start at $10 per person and can be purchased online or through participating local dealerships. There is also a chance to win prizes such as rifles, ammo and shotguns from various NRA sponsored contests each year

There are three basic techniques for aiming: elevation, windage, and saturation. Elevation is the process of moving the gun up or down to increase or decrease the shooting range at which it can hit targets. The higher the gun is aimed, the more difficult it will be to hit your target at close range. Windage is how much you rotate your arm in relation to the direction of motion of your target. This will cause your bullet to travel in a straight line from where you started shooting, towards your desired target. Saturation refers to how much rounds you fire into your target at once. This will cause all rounds fired into your target to be inside its circle of fire. When practicing with firearms, always remember that safety first! If you don't know how to handle a firearm properly, do not try out shooting against an opponent or targets unaided! Always use common sense when firing and aim carefully so as not injury or death may occur.

The towns of Hartford and New Britain were merged into Ansonia in 1801. In 1865, the first public school opened in Ansonia. In 1882, the first electric light was turned on in Ansonia. In 1916, the first movie theater was built in Ansonia.

That year, George Carew founded Carew's Village on an island in what is now Ansonia Harbor. The village became a town on November 3, 1810. On April 14, 1860, Ansonia voters approved a referendum to become part of Hartford County. In 1957-58, work began on building the world's first high school on an open-air campus overlooking Long Island Sound. As part of that project, construction also included $1 million for streets and public amenities such as a library and post office buildings. The new school opened in 1959 and soon became one of the most popular schools in town. The community has experienced several challenges since its founding; including during World War II when many residents took up arms against Japan; during the 1960s and 1970s when organized crime flourished; during Hurricane Irene (2011); and more recently with respect to economic development due to increased traffic congestion along Route 11 across from downtown Ansonia

Ansonia is a town in Connecticut, United States. The population was 10,584 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Ansonia–West Haven–Middletown metropolitan area. The town was founded in 1795 by General Anson Clinton and his brother-in-law, Colonel George Washington Carver. The first store opened in 1796, and the first post office was established on July 1, 1800. In 1802, Ansonia became the capital of what would become known as the Connecticut Colony. In 1824, Ansonia became an incorporated village under the name Westville. A year later it joined with Ansonia to form a new town called Ansonia-Westville. On December 3rd of that year, it merged with Middletown to form a single city entitled "Ansonia". On January 1st, 1907, an act was passed by Congress which recognized the township of East Hartford as an independent municipality separate from Ansonia and Westville proper within each township line but still subject to those towns' laws and regulations; this act led to the establishment of another municipal government for East Hartford which continues to exist today. On November 6th of that year residents approved a citizens' referendum asking for annexation into New London County; this annexation did not take place however due to lack of support from both sides of the political aisle in New London County. A referendum proposing incorporation into Bridgeport failed on March 14th.,1994 but did result in one building being built outside of town limits: Stroud Hall High School
