When Interstate 25 was constructed through Kiowa County in 1965, Windsor followed suit and became an interchange for northbound I-25 traffic heading eastward from Fort Collins while southbound I-25 traffic continued existing past Windsor until it reached Durango downriver before rejoining I-25 near Telluride miles downstream from Windsor Village proper

Windsor, Colorado is a small town in Weld County, Colorado. It was founded in 1876 by two brothers, John and George Windsor. The town grew quickly due to the railroad and mining industries that were established here. The population of Windsor peaked at around 100 in the early 1920s, but has since decreased significantly. Today, there are only a few remaining residents in the town. The history of Windsor goes back to 1876 when two young men named John and George Windsor decided to settle in this part of Weld County after hearing about deposits of coal on the nearby Mesa Verde hills. They built a cabin near what is now downtown Windsor and started trading goods and services with other local farmers and miners. By 1909, the Winsor Brothers had purchased 160 acres of land east of town for $5 per acre ($40 total). This land would become their permanent home until they sold it off in 1928 for $10 per acre ($160 total). In 1916, the surviving brother John married Ida Jourdan from nearby Greeley. The couple moved into their new home until they died six years later together. From then on, Mrs. John’s husband took care of all aspects of running the house while she looked after their children (three daughters and one son). In 1924, Burlington Northern Railroad donated three miles of track right through downtown Windsor so that people could get to work easier than ever before. This made life much easier for business owners who needed more customers coming into their stores during lunchtime or during school hours than they could handle from homes! It was also great for residents because it meant that they no longer had to walk down Main Street every time they wanted something! However, this railway improvement did not last too long as within a few years Amtrak had bought out Burlington Northern Railroad! As a result of this change in ownership, many businesses closed down or changed locations which caused someusto decrease drastically over time due to lack Of competition or financial instability….
