In 1892, a group of men from the town of Windsor, Colorado, decided to create a gun light show. The first show was held in a local grocery store and drew attention from passersby. The show continued to be held until 1902. In that year, the American Legion donated land for a new shooting range in the town and the gun light show stopped being produced. However, some shows were still put on sporadically through out the years until it disappeared completely in 1966 when gun lights were banned by local ordinance. The use of gun lights began to slowly reappear in Windsor again starting around 1984 when someone started producing an illuminated flashlight called "Gunsight". It was used as an advertising tool for GUNSIGHT products which included gunsights and other firearm accessories. Gun lights have since become popular tourist attractions and are now widely available throughout America.

Windsor, Colorado is a small town in the Rocky Mountains of western Colorado. The population was 763 at the 2010 census. The town was founded in 1876 by James Fenton and named for King George V of England. Windsor's first post office was established in 1879. By 1890, there were only 50 residents living in Windsor; it had a population of 909 by 1900. The population peaked at 1,419 in 1910 before declining gradually over the next few decades. In 2000, just 154 people lived in Windsor, making it one of the smallest communities in Weld County. In recent years, Windsor has seen increased development along its borders with Grand Junction to the west and Adams County to the south. One result has been an increase in traffic congestion on I-25, which has led to complaints from residents about how their village is being shortchanged by Tollroad operators. Despite this situation, some people continue to live and work in Windsor despite its challenges due to its close proximity to major metropolitan areas such as Denver and Boulder.

Windsor, Colorado is a community located in the Chaffee County seat of Aurora. The population was 2,898 at the 2000 census and 3,269 at the 2010 census. Windsor was founded in 1861 as a cattle ranch. It became a city in 1907. In 1968 it merged with nearby Pueblo to form one large city.
The first white settlers in what is now Windsor, Colorado arrived in 1879. The town was founded by Captain James W. Armstrong and his family. Armstrong's father, John Armstrong, had come to the area from eastern Colorado in 1868. In 1880, Captain Armstrong married a woman named Mary Atherton and the couple set up a farm east of town. TheArmstrongs were the first people to use water rights granted by the Ute River Commission to irrigate their crops. In 1934, when the state of Colorado took over most of Weld County, it decided that Windsor should be part of this new county. The townspeople voted to incorporation as a municipality on December 10th of that year. On January 1st, 1935, Windsor became an official city with its own government and police department. In 1957, Windsor annexed nearby Arvada and incorporated as a third city within its limits- this was done in order to allow for more comprehensive economic development within its boundaries without having two separate municipalities serving different purposes.
