In China around 1000 BC during the Tang Dynasty there were references to firing arrows using hot air from heated rocks on an open area near Beijing known as Fuxi Gongcheng (present day Tiananmen Square). This type of firing is thought to have been ancestor of modernTarget Shooting events where people use targets made out of foam or other materials instead of humans

In 1903, an American company patented an airgun that uses compressed air to propel projectiles up to 100miles per second. In 1919, a rifle called the .22 LRcaliber revolver was invented by John Browning which fired cartridges at high speed with a revolving cylinder that allowed multiple shots to be fired without reloading. It became very popular and remains in use today.

Windsor was founded in 1876 by James Wirt and his brother-in-law, Hiram Frye. It became a city in 1907. It annexed the towns of Delta and Kremmling in 1966.

The first post office in the town was called "Northwich." In 1893, the name of the town changed to "Windsor" because of its location on the Canadian border. The nearby towns of Northglenn and Lafayette were incorporated in 1907 and 1909, respectively. The population of Windsor totaled 551 people in 1910; it had grown to 1,027 people by 1912. However, as a result of World War I and the Great Depression, the population fell to 612 people by 1931. It increased slightly to 1,331 people by 1937 but again slumped during World War II due to wartime shortages of goods that impacted both civilian populations and military personnel stationed in Windsor. In 1951, Windsor amalgamated with neighboring Lafayette to form a new city government under Mayor John Ahern. This move allowed for increased development within downtown while still maintaining strong ties between those two municipalities. In 1978, Mayor Ahern announced plans for an expansion into what would become known as Park City; this project ultimately failed due to low interest from residents within Park City itself coupled with high costs associated with expanding into what would have been an already large municipality (this failure also led to unpopular decisions such as reduced funding for public services). Later that same year, Mayor Ahern announced his intention to re-open negotiations for annexation into Park City pending approval from both Burlington County planners and residents thereabouts; however this proposal too failed when no interested parties emerged willing or able to participate in such a venture given their concurrent desire for more control over their own lives than they felt they had ever enjoyed before within Park City proper - something that has continued unabated through successive administrations up until now (the current mayor having made some limited changes hereto address this issue).
