Wheat Ridge is a small town in Weld County, Colorado, United States. The population was 1,834 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Fort Collins–Aurora metropolitan area. Wheat Ridge is located on Interstate 25 and ZIP code 80525. The town was founded in 1864 by Capt. George Aiken as "Haviland". It was renamed "Wheat Ridge" on November 5, 1868, after wheat that had been grown in nearby Aspen. The first post office was opened in 1870. The name change represented the growth of Wheat Ridge into a town with its own government and economy within the larger region. Today, Wheat Ridge remains an agricultural community with a strong tradition of produce production and marketing. The village has a wide variety of businesses including several grocery stores and restaurants as well as three banks and two hardware stores. There are also several professional services such as engineering, accounting, law enforcement, agriculture and land management while also providing many educational opportunities for students from all over the area who attend local schools or neighboring towns (such as Aspen). One attraction for residents & visitors alike is the 7 mile (11 km) long hiking trail called "Theloop" which winds through forested hills to connect with other trails near Silverthorn Park & Golden Peak ski resort before terminating at Lowertowne Reservoir just east of downtown Wheat Ridge proper - perfect for accessing nature preserves or simply taking in scenic views from various points along its length!

The first scope Mount was created by FN Herstal in 1954. This mount allowed for the use of rifles with various magnification levels up to 4x42mm lens using a Weaver-style base. In 1957, American Rifleman began producing their own platform scope mounts which allowed for magnification levels from 3x25mm up to 7x54mm lenses using standard Weaver-style bases. By 1961, all major firearms manufacturers had produced their own versions of this type of scope mounting system including FN Herstal, American Rifleman and Siegler & Sauer who developed the AGM (Allgemeine Gewehrmacht) series of mounts which allowed for magnification levels from 10x42mm up to 5x56mm lenses using Schmidt & Bender type bases. A few years later in 1969, SIG made their own version of an Allgemeine Gewehrmacht style scope mounting system which became known as the SIG P226/P228 series mounts which allowed for magnification levels from 9x27mm up to 4x18mm lenses using Weaver-style bases. In 1978, Heckler & Koch produced their own version of an Allgemeine Gewehrmacht stylescope mounting system known as the HK416/417 series mounts which allowed for magnification levels from 6x36MM up to 3x24MM lenses using Weaver-style bases. In 1984 Winchester also produced their own version of an Allgemeine Gewehrmacht stylescope mounted on a rifle known as the XM8A1/E1 series which allowed for magnification Levels from 8X43MM up to 4X32MM lenses utilizing standard Weaver-style bases By 1990 all major firearms companies had phased out production of these types of scopes due primarily to competition from electronic zoom systems offered by Nikon and Canon respectively

Wheat Ridge is located on the eastern edge of the Rockies and bordered by Aspen to the north and east, Lafayette to the west, and Grand Junction to the south. The first settler in what would become Wheat Ridge was John Paddock in 1876. He named his land "Wheat Ridge" after a wheat field he saw while travelling through Kansas. By 1888, many farmers had moved into Wheat Ridge from surrounding counties. The town began to grow rapidly due to its location and good infrastructure such as an railroad station and water system. In 1907, Wheat Ridge became one of twelve townships in Weld County created under state legislation known as "The New Towns Act". In 1935, Wheat Ridge became a city when it incorporated under state law. On July 1 of that year, it had a population of 53 people. That number peaked at over 100 people during World War II when wheat production reached its peak; however, since then there has been little growth except for a small decrease during the late 1990s due to economic hard times. On January 17th of this year (2011), Wheatridge voters passed an ordinance making it illegal for any business with more than 10 workers within city limits (a limit now set at 7). This ordinance followed months of discussion about increasing job security within the city as well as concerns about businesses leaving because they could not meet payroll or afford taxes (the same taxes that support city services). The new ordinance will go into effect on February 15th 2011
