The Wheat Ridge Rifle Club was organized in 1892. The club had a single target rifle range, located on the northwest corner of Main and School Streets. The first target rifles were made from walnut, but soon began to be replaced by steel. In 1898, the club moved to its current location on 26th Street and Market Place. In 1916, the club built a new range at 5th and I streets in what is now known as the Colt Center for Arms Research & Education. This was followed by another range at 14th and A streets in 1949. Today, the Wheat Ridge Rifle Club hosts a variety of shooting events including Trap, skeet, pistol tournaments, rifle matches, shotgun tournaments and USPSA competitions.
Wheat Ridge is a small town located in Weld County, Colorado, United States. The population was 5,887 at the 2010 census. Wheat Ridge is the county seat of Weld County and it lies east of Fort Collins on the eastern edge of the Pikes Peak Range. Wheat Ridge is part of the Denver-Aurora-Lakewood Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settlers to what is now Wheat Ridge were farmers who arrived in 1859. They named their settlement "Wheat Ridge" after a ridge running through their farm land that they saw while travelling down the mountain. The early settlers built a few log homes and an athletic field near where they lived until around 1870 when they started to build more permanent structures including a church, school and post office. The first store in what is now Wheat Ridge opened its doors in 1870. By 1890, there were three stores in town and three churches with worshippers from all over Weld County participating in services held at those locations. In 1907, wheat crops failed due to bad weather conditions which caused some people to leave for other places to look for work during what would become known as the "Wheat Crisis". However, by 1910, Wheat Ridge had recovered enough so that businesses reopened and growth resumed throughout the 1920s until World War II interrupted any further progressivism before returning again during peacetime times which lasted until shortly before he death of Senator John F Kennedy in 1964 leaving behind an almost complete lack of infrastructure & social programs resulting largely from government within private hands most notably by Governor Phil Hinkley who had been appointed by JFK's father & then became Ulysses S Grant's temporary replacement while Grant was serving as Secretary of War & then As Chief Justice Of The United States Supreme Court In recent years much has changed both physically & socially due primarily to outside forces such as global warming but also natural disasters such as hurricanes etc.. although there have been some successes including new roads being completed projects like HWY 25 south known locally as "the Philando Castile Highway" connecting Aurora with downtown Wheatridge just north of US 16 (a direct road since I-25 enters town) There are several theaters located within walking distance or minutes' drive including Regal Cinemas (northwest corner), Loews Regency Theatre (east side), AMC Cherry Valley Mall (southwest corner), AMC Loews Park Place (northwest corner) and Diamondback Ranch Cinema complex along I-25 near Keystone Lake

Lee fought a three-day long battle near the town of Gettysburg. The main purpose of this battle was to capture or kill as many Confederate soldiers as possible so that they could not resist further attacks by Union troops. The Battle of Gettysburg resulted in over 60,000 casualties on both sides and resulted in the death of more than 3,000 men.
