Mounts became more common in the late 1800s as rifle sights began to become more common. In 1907, Westminster erected its own gunsmith shop to make and sell scope mounts. The shop continued to be active until 1944 when it closed because of World War II. After the war, Scope Mounts Incorporated (now known as American Rifleman) started making scope mounts in town. American Rifleman continued making mounts until 1980 when they went out of business. In 1984, British rifle company Marlin released their new bolt-action rifle called the "Mark I." This new rifle required a scope mount which made Scope Mounts Incorporated decide to build a new mount for the Mark I which they called the "Marlin Picatinny Rail". From then on, Scope Mounts Corporation became known as Marlin Optics Corporation. Today, Scope Mounts Corporation produces both scopes and riflescopes for many different brands of firearms including AR-15 rifles, pistols, shotguns and even action cameras! Westminster is an unincorporated town in San Miguel County, Colorado, United States. The population was 1,569 at the 2010 census. It is the largest community in San Miguel County by population size and has been growing since its incorporation in 1957. Westminster is located on a bluffs overlooking the confluence of Clear Creek and the San Miguel River. U.S. Route 25 passes through the center of town, leading east to Fort Collins and west to Pueblo. The first settler in what is now Westminster was James Ahern who arrived from Ireland on December 15, 1876 with his family. He named his new land "Westminster" after London's Palace of Westminster where he had seen British Prime Ministers display their power before his arrival there that day. Ahern owned more than one thousand acres (500 ha) of property within what is now downtown Westminster during his lifetime - most notably around present-day Fourth and Fifth streets which he called "The fanciful avenues". He also established two schools: One for boys operated by subscription from farmers and another for girls operated by free instruction from local ladies who helped teach other children when they could not afford books themselves or were too young to learn at home. In 1907, Drury Smeaton erected a water tower on College Hill just south of current-day First Street between Second and Third Streets - this became known as The Smeaton Tower because it was built by Drury Smeaton himself! In 1917, Mrinald Kishorebhai Patel came to America looking for a better life; however he soon realized that many people were still living hand-to-mouth due to World War I shortages caused by Europe's war effort. Patel decided to move into town so that he could start a business importing goods needed for American soldiers fighting in Europe – this would become known as "Patel's Shop". Soon after, other businesses followed suit – including The Gilded Cagesmithy shop run by Harry Gilded Cage who had arrived from England two years earlier with his father Daniel Gilded Cage (1838–1927). Today you can still find some remnants of these early days through various shops such as The Cagesmithy store which reopened in late 2013 following extensive renovations complete over several years George Hargrave Wilson opened up his hardware store across from Westin Hotelback then later closed it down but left behind numerous items only found inside the walls today like clocks or door knobs etc... all dating back to 1918 when Wilson opened up his Hardware Store Downtown.. All zoning changes have allowed buildings like this one back into use again! Gerald Larkin started out selling ice cream but soon decided on becoming a grocery store owner/manager; Today Gerry Larkin's Grocery Stores remains one of Scotland’s longest running grocery storesserving customers up until 10pm every night! Another retail staple dating back to 1907 is Jenson’s old Clothing Store next door which still sells clothing even though it no longer opens for business anymore! This building controversially held onto itsKeep your clothes clean sign even after being condemned as hazardous material by state officials In 1957, Christy Whitman formed her own marketing company called Creative Marketing Incorporated doing research into how best to promote her new town name & slogan “Westminster Is Where you Are Wanted” She recruited her husband Dean Whitman Sr., son Jerry Whitman Jr., grandson Jerry Whitman III & sister Rhoda Dean Whitney herself as part of her marketing team They created brochures & flyers advertising everything from dances at local resorts nearby (& free!) all the way up until their very first customer service call 8 months later When they introduced their new slogan everyone wanted one especially local boy Ronnie Whitehead who ran Roper Bros Video Game Emporium right Next To City Hall From As early As 1969 Until It Was Demolished In 2008!!

Westminster, Colorado is a town in the San Miguel County seat of Westminster, Colorado. The population was 1,852 at the 2010 census. It is located on Highway 6 east of Westminster and west of Pueblo. The first people to live in this area were the Ute tribe who hunted and gathered resources near what is now Westminster. In 1876, a group of white men from Utah came across these same resources while searching for a new location for their Rancho San Miguel cattle ranch. They named the area "Westminster" after their hometown in England where they had been born and raised. The first post office was established in Methodist church on Main Street in 1880. In 1892, smallpox killed over 50% of the pupils at Scotland Creek School which served as both local elementary school and high school until it closed its doors due to lack of funding. A new school was built on South Main Street which opened in 1893 with 8 students tuition-free thanks to a $1,000 donation from General George Armstrong Custer's widow This school became known as Westminster High School when it united with Pueblo High School District No 2 (later Denver Public Schools) to form one entity statewide in 1998 A fire destroyed most of the buildings on Main Street around 1915 so that Westmoor Elementary School replaced it In 1916-1917 there was an effort by Congressman James Weldon Johnson to rename all 27 US states according to European names ending with "-ernie", -Belgium,-Flanders,-Luxembourg,-Netherlands,-Norway,-Sweden,-Finland,-Iceland.-Scotland.-England.-Canada.. In 1917 he introduced House Bill 5883 which Passed but died before it could be sent to conference committee In 1923-1924 an attempt was made by then Mayor John Smedley Jr., along with State Senator Fred Hahn, Boulder City Councilmember Harry Blackman and others to bring about annexation by Pueblo into San Miguel County because residents wanted more services such as schools, police department and post office within their borders No action was taken until 1961 when Measure V passed by 80% vote becoming annexation law without any input from residents
Westminster was founded on the corner of State and Downing streets in 1876, as the city's first town. The name is derived from Westminster Abbey, where King Charles I lived before his execution in 1649.
