Westminster is a small, rural town located in the vicinity ofColorado Springs. The population was 1,521 at the 2010 census. It is included within the greater Grand Junction area and is bordered on the east by Aspen Air Force Base, on the west by Pueblo County and to the south by Montrose County. Westminster has a mix of architecture from old-fashioned ranch style homes to new high-rise condominiums. The downtown district features a large shopping center with several restaurants and stores as well as two theaters. The first settlers in Westminster were men who arrived in 1868 from Kansas City, Missouri. They ranched land and built log cabins near what is now Church Street. A post office was established in 1870, and named Westminster after Lord Palmerston, then British Prime Minister. In 1887, an oil well was drilled in Westminster but no wells were developed until 1901 when Humble Oil Company (later Exxon) founded its Exploration Department here. In 1912, General Electric Company began production at Pueblo Electric Generating Station (now part of Energy Services Inc.) which created jobs for many Westminsters including many mechanics who worked on GE's turbines there until they were replaced by more modern machines around 1975 or so during deregulation of utilities worldwide whereby old fashioned regulation gave way to big business practices(the era of neoliberalism). In 1940, when World War II began, much of central Colorado came under Japanese control as part of "Operation Mockingbird". When Admiral Chester Nimitz was commandership of US Pacific Fleet he ordered all troop movements throughout Japan be hidden from military intelligence services through use of false addresses such as "Wallingford" on Okinawa Island where American troops were being held prisoner awaiting word from home that they should surrender without fighting; this operation led to MacArthur's famous speech below Mount Fuji reading "I have been told that within these walls are some very brave soldiers waiting to come Home." This story helped make MacArthur into a national hero following his victory over Japan at Iwo Jima in 1945 In 1946 Congress passed The Internal Security Act which authorized federal immigration restrictions against aliens who had participated in Nazi Germany or other Axis countries during World War II On July 14th 1969 General Electric Co leased six square miles known as “the Strip” for $1 million dollars from Mesa Petroleum Corporation adjacent to Interstate 25 between Denver and Rico Ranch Road By 1971 it became clear that natural gas drilling would become increasingly important due to increased fuel prices causingiona fields such as Marcellus Shale gas discoveries Numerous businesses sprang up along I-25 near strip while strip mall growth continued

The original Red Dot sight was used on rifles and pistols and it allowed shooters to retain the target picture even when their eyes were obscured by obstacles, such as glasses or sunglasses. In 1972, Sperry introduced a more advanced design that featured a high-resolution mirror beneath the objective lens that allowed shooters to see their target clearly even when their eyes were covered by other objects.
Westminster is a small town located in Weld County, Colorado, United States. It was founded in 1887 by John P. Folsom and his family as a small farming community. The first post office was established in Westminster on November 5, 1886. In 1903, the name of the town was changed to Westminster after the seat of government for Weld County, Colorado moved from Greeley to Westminster. The population of Westminster increased rapidly during the early 20th century due to growth in agriculture and ranching; however, since World War II it has slowly decreased due to various factors including loss of jobs and a lack of development opportunities. The history of Westminster begins with its location on the banks of the San Juan River. A group of settlers, led by John P. Folsom, arrived in 1887 and platted what would become Westminster on land that they had acquired from Mexico along the river's edge. The community quickly grew thanks to its prime location near water supplies and excellent grazing land for cattle and sheep. On February 17, 1893, Folsom donated some acreage northeast of downtown to become one block square in what would eventually be called North Park Place. That same year saw another important milestone when firefighters from nearby Hazleton responded to an intense fire that destroyed several hundred acres north of town. Soon after this event, local farmers began planting fruit trees on their property which accounted for much of their income during the early years without refrigeration or other modern amenities! In 1906-07 pioneer Hilda Ladd purchased 240 acres northwest of downtown from her husband Drury Sellers as part Of an effort to develop what would become known as West End Village (later renamed Park City). That same year saw another landmark event when city councilman Tom Jorgensen erected a ten-foot high stone cross outside his home at 5th Street & Sabin Avenue which became known as "the Crossroads." This spot served as a nexus for many social activities throughout those initial years before becoming secondary importance following annexation by Denver in 1912 (though still depicted on municipal maps). 4 years later saw construction begin on what would eventually become One Center Square – now known as Lady Bird Johnson Library/Museum complex following donation by Mrs Lyndon B Johnson – making it oneof first public buildings constructed within the Municipality limits! As recently as 1978 there were still small rural churches dating back to pioneer days functioning out side local homes while residents attended services inside larger centers such as Mary Templeton School located just east OF One Center Square! Today’s downtown area contains over 100 businesses with over 200 residential units available within easy walking distance!
