By 1902 Westminster had a newspaper which lasted until 1907 and also had its own school system until segregated schools were established in 1964. In 1916 Westminster became part of Denver during the split of Colorado's municipal government following passage of state constitutional amendment No. 191 which granted voting rights to women over men. The population increased rapidly through annexation by neighboring counties over time as more people moved into or expanded into areas adjacent to Westminster including Douglas County and Park Hills Cemetery There are still some original residents within this growing city today who maintain their close connection with their roots while living among new neighbors From its inception as a small farming community – centered around plowing fields near what is now downtown – to becoming one of Denver’s most populous cities with 10,554 residents by 2010 it has undergone many changes over time; but no change has been more dramatic than that brought about by women’s suffrage in 1976 which finally gave those working class Coloradans everywhere access to basic political equality they longed for but could not achieve on their own terms Today’s vibrant downtown area includes several popular shops such as JCPenney (), Macy’s (), Sears () and Kleinfeld (). These newcomers set about creating jobs for others within the expanding city limits while maintaining cultural aspects common among pioneer ranchers/farmers - music attendance at dances continued unabated such as Saturday night live cowboy concerts played outdoors under stars oftenwell into prohibition era years From these beginnings development gradually progressed culminating with incorporation byDouglas County onto Chicago & Southern Railway mainline east-west through central Douglas County solidifying business boundaries thru incorporation ordinances passinqt 1914 allowing further expansion w/out prior approval from other jurisdictions . Businesses boomed due largely to easy access Interstate 80 then newly constructedrenovated Municipal Stadium providing ample parking & loaner cars available 24/7
