Gun barrels have a long and varied history in Westminster, Colorado. The first gunshots in the town were heard on July 24th, 1876 when two men named Earle and McNaught engaged in a gunbattle that lasted for three hours. Prior to this time, there were no firearms regulations in the area and citizens were free to carry whatever they pleased. The first guns used in Westminster were shotguns which fired shot pellets at distances of up to 100 yards. By 1881, handguns had become available to residents of the town and began being used as self-defense tools. With so many people carrying handguns, it was necessary to get special permits from the police department to carry them. In 1903, the city ordinance establishing handgun permit requirements was passed and became effective. During World War I, though there was no war fought in Westminster specifically by or against the city, ammunition shortages led to some residents acquiring rifles for use within their homes. Gun barrel production increased significantly after World War I due to new orders from governments all over Europe regarding firearms. Ammunition demand continued increasing until the early 1930s following Prohibition which ended alcohol sales in America. This created a need for new barrels for pistols as well as rifles and shotguns which resulted in barrels becoming scarce throughout much of America (particularly with respect to rifle Barrels). Following prohibition ceased, gun barrel production resumed primarily due to the large demand from European arms dealers who required high quality barrels for their products (Barrel Production peaked during World War II). However Post-World War II years saw a significant decline in barrel production due mainly to technological advancements as well as changes in American society where smoking cigarettes became increasingly popular among adults (especially men). Shotgun manufacturing also experienced similar declines throughout most of the 1960s however this changed abruptly around 1970 when automatic weapons began entering into common use across America (primarily by military). As shotgun manufacturing declined thereafter numerous small companies produced shotguns including POF Incorporated who continued making high quality barrels until 1990 when they too went out of business
How do barrels work? The barrel is made of metal, plastic, or other material and is inserted into the gun. It has a bore that is big enough to put the rounds through it. Gunsmiths use a die to make a perfect fit for the round in the barrel and then they forge the barrel using heat and pressure. The finished product looks like an arrowhead or another type of weapon object.

The name Westminster comes from "old fort", which was built by pioneers in 1859 near what is now the corner of South Downing Street and Union Avenue. The town was founded in 1858 as a trading post for ranchers who grazed their stock on adjoining hills northeast of downtown Denver. In 1870, settlers arrived from England with several families to homestead near what is now Westminster Center Mall in northwest Westminster. By 1876, whenDenver became an incorporated municipality, most of Westminster had come under its jurisdiction; however, some residents kept their homes in private hands until 1902 when they all votingly annexed into Denver as part of a larger urban growth movement that included Aurora and Littleton. In 1902, citizens voted to change their name to Westminster after British Prime Minister Lord Derby's visit thereto (the first time a British head of state had ever visited Colorado). The new name reflected English sensibilities about polite country gentlemen living among civilized Americans—a model for many Englophile Londoners at that time who saw themselves as following America's example without losing any cultural or social elements associated with their homeland. Some residents still refer to themselves as "westminsterites" today although many have moved away since 2002 due to various reasons including changing economic fortunes within both cities combined (in 2000, Westminster ranked 5th out of 826 towns nationwide in terms GDP per capita while Aurora ranked 2nd). However, despite this outward changeover there are still several recognizable landmarks such as The Old Fort - home through much of earlysettlement - Park Place No 1 School - one stoplight north off I-25 southbound before reaching Hwy 36 (opened 1907), The Presbyterian church – rebuilt 1893-1907 - Stroudsbury Shopping Center across Cherry Creek from Post Office/Police station - latter opened 1988 inside old former bank building closed in 1953/54 & served primarily by USPS until it closed 2013; also known locally as “The Bank” & “The Post Office”
