A post office was established in 1883, and the town took its name from General George Armstrong Custer, who fought in the Mexican-American War and later became an American hero. The plant closed in 1972 but its legacy continues to be felt today with several small businesses based here including Thornton Connections which sells electric equipment online; Thornton Welding which provides welding services; and Thornton Auto Body which installs car parts. In recent years, Thornton has seen growth as a bedroom community for Denver residents commuting to work or living near downtown Denver or Aurora. The town’s mayor is Isabella Gomez (D), who was elected on November 3rd, 2016 after winning her third term as Mayor of Thornton through an election process that included open voting without secret ballots. As of 2017 there are over 100 businesses within walking distance of each other including restaurants, boutiques, galleries and theaters all clustered around First Street between 19th Avenue N and 25th Avenue N just outside of downtown Thornton!

Plus, magnification also allows usto view objects up close instead of just from afar – something incredibly useful for hunting animals or inspecting machinery! It wasn’t until 1912 that someone finally came up with an effective way to correct focal errors caused by age-related macular degeneration (AMD). This was called “ holographic correction” and it involved using light waves Instead of lenses on special photosensitive cards placed inside viewers called “ holographographs” !!! Just like our currentocular technology today, hologeography used mirrors bouncing sunlight off different surfaces in order to create three-dimensional images !!! Thornton was founded in 1876 by Williston and Fenton settlers. The first post office was established in Thornton in 1877, and the town name was changed to Thornton in 1886. The population of Thornton increased rapidly during the early years of its existence, reaching a peak of 2,500 citizens in 1908. However, the town's growth slowed down after World War I and during the 1920s it experienced significant decreases in population. In 1930, however, Thornton's population reached its peak of 10,000 residents. After experiencing another decrease during the 1940s and 1950s, Thornton's population decreased again between 1960 and 1970 due to several factors including the arrival of new residents from other parts of Colorado and a decrease in factory jobs. Although there has been a recent increase in population due to migration from elsewhere within Colorado, Thornton remains an unincorporated community with no municipal government.
Thornton was founded in 1876 by John Thornton and his wife, Laura. The town grew rapidly due to its location at the intersection of two wagon roads, and it soon became a popular destination for travelers. In 1916, Thornton became the capital of Colorado.
