The first rifles in the area were designed and built by George Armstrong in 1876. The first rifle on the market was the Armstrong Rifle, which was a six-shot revolver designed for hunting large game. This club built many of the current buildings in town including The Fountain Inn and Casino, where they still hold meetings today. In 1911, Dr. John Teller purchased land east of town and began construction on what is now called Teller Ranch Gunnery School. Today, Teller Ranch Gunnery School is one of only a few schools left open across the United States teaching such instruction! In 1925, Charles Eagan started building what is now known as The Shooting Gallery at 8th Avenue and Liberty Street in downtown Steamboat Springs. Grant's proclamation terminating World War II Eligibility Requirements! On November 10th 1951 Mayor Waddell announced that the city would annex neighboring Colfax County if county commissioners did not agree to annexation by October 15th! This action provided much needed funding for city hall during a time when critical infrastructure improvements such as sewers and fire hydrants had not yet been completed! On December 5th 1951 Commissioners Ballenger and Kapp approved annexation unanimously! In 1956 plans were drawn up to replace both mainsteam pumps used by municipal services with more modern model pump sets which were funded through private donations through steamboat SPRINGS Improvement Association fundraiser event held at Hotel Continental prior to dedication ceremonies taking place on February 14th 1957 thanks largely to Project Manager Dick Pritchard who graciously contributed his entire personal fortune towards this project – an event made allthemore special because Dick passed away suddenly only days later from cancer less than two months after inauguration ceremony!!
