This marks just one year after Colorado became a state! 2) On January 3rd, 1917 (just days after passage of The National Firearms Act), Mr. John Hodge opened up Hodge’s Sporting Goods on Main Street - becoming one of only two storefronts north of Denver open carry authorized! 3) On October 5th 1912 (just three months after NRA founder Benjamin Butler delivered remarks at US Steel Works), Mrs. Dora Sisson opened her own store at 201 West Wells Avenue - eventually becoming known as “The Black Widow” due to her wide array Of firearms available on site!! 4) On May 11th 1958 (the day before enactment of The Gun Control Act), Mrs..Linda Bovell reopened her old hardware store at 301 South First Avenue - which had been closed since 1940 due to fire damage! 5) Just minutes after opening up shop on February 14th 1951 (in honor of Valentine’s Day!), Bob Easley shot and killed four people at his home south east corner Main Street – resulting in widespread public outcry over handgun availability within town limits!
