The Parker Shooting Club was founded in 1890. It is one of the oldest shooting clubs in the United States and has been active in shooting sports for over 125 years. The club offers a variety of programs, including trap, skeet, and rifle shooting. There are two types of competitions: novice and pro. For novice shooters, the club offers introductory classes to help them become proficient in using firearms. The pro competition series features experienced shooters from around the country who compete against each other in various matches styles. In 1935, new regulations were passed that made it illegal to shoot at any moving or stationary objects with intent to kill or maim someone. In 1938, another ordinance was passed which increased punishment for violators of this law. This ordinance called for up to 5 years imprisonment and/or a $5000 fine for each offense committed. In 1951 an ordinance was passed that created the present day police department within the city limits of Parker. The original police department building still stands today and is used as headquarters for the current police department
Parker is a town in Jefferson County, Colorado, United States. The population was 2,811 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Denver-Aurora-Lakewood Metropolitan Statistical Area. Parker was founded in 1876 as a small coaltown named Aurora and became one of the fastest-growing towns in Jefferson County. The first mention of Parker comes from Spanish explorer Hernando de Soto who sighted the area on his way southward in 1542. He called it "Pleasant Valley" because of the many trees and fruit trees he found there. The name change to "Parker" after General George A. Parker, head of Ulysses S. Grant's army during the Mexican–American War who donated land for what is now Parkersburg Cemetery (now renamed Westminster Cemetery). In 1876, railroad man effort to bring coal and other minerals to market resulted in large increase in population within two years of its founding due to speculation by speculators that new mineral deposits would be discovered therein. By 1880, when Parker incorporated as a town, its population had reached 1,500 people and included more than 100 businesses including a flour mill and limekiln. By 1907 its population had grown to 3,000 residents with over 200 businesses and 2 professional schools: Central High School (founded 1902) which became Colorado State University Denver; Presbyterian College (established 1906) which became Colorado State University Boulder In 1928 Mayor John Waggoner initiated plans for downtown annexation into Parkersburg making it an unincorporated community once again separate from Parkersburg proper but still subject to city regulations In 1930 closure of Central High School led to mass exodus of students followed by rapid growth in number of businesses since no other school could provide qualified teachers In 1936 Parkersburg annexed intoDenver through state legislature's concurrent resolution

SOPE became the standard for shooter eye protection throughout the world.
One of the earliest firearms to feature eye protection was the musket. With its straight-forward design, it allowed for a more efficient target acquisition and made it easier for soldiers to fire at enemies hiding in cover. The development of pistols also led to increased use of eye protection, as shooters had to account for multiple targets simultaneously.
Parker, Colorado is a town in Park County, Colorado, United States. The population was 1,876 at the 2010 census. Parker dates back to 1868 when it was named for J.H. Parker who had donated land to the town. The first post office in Parker opened in 1872. The village of Parkerville was platted in 1903 and became part of Parker after it incorporated as a village. The original parkland that now makes up most of Parker was donation from J.H. Parker and his wife Emma to the town on October 15, 1868 (the date on which the first post office opened). In 1870, John Hargrave bought land from J.H., making Parkerville an official Towne name on April 14th, 1871 (although some sources say it was May 3rd). On October 15th of that year - only one day after incorporation - Parksville officially changed its name to "Parker" in honor of J.H.'s donation and also because there were already two other towns – Golden and Asotin – with similar namesakes! Asparkerville's growth continued unabated during the early years of this century there were numerous attempts by local officials to annex or merge with neighboring townships but all without success due to lack of agreement between residents over boundaries and governance model(s) within each respective community... finally annexation occurred on July 1st 1916 when much-needed acreage surrounding present day Grand Junction was annexed into Parkerville proper... annexation created another municipality within our small but growing town – one that would outlast us by many years! In 2000 however, when Arapahoe County merged with Denver county, both Parkervilles lost their charter status as Village/Townships but remain under jurisdiction of Arapahoe County through special ordinances passed by then Arapahoe County commissioners concurrent with consolidation... today remains our unique history lesson about how township form works within a larger community!
In 1876, the Parker family immigrated to Colorado from England. The first settlers were a couple of brothers and their families. They started a small farm in what is now Parker County. Eventually, they added other families to their farm and created a large community that still exists today. The community was named for John A. Parker, one of the early settlers.
