Parker is a small town located in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. The population was 1,569 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Fort Collins-Greeley-Aurora, CO Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settler in Parker was John Fenton in 1875. The name Parker comes from Parson's Peak, which is located north of town and overlooks Parkersburg Reservoir. The Fenton family operated a farm there until 1919 when they sold it to Mabel Palmer who founded Palmer Manufacturing Company which produced radios and other electronic equipment until its closure in 1984. The Palmer House still stands as a museum within town limits today. In 1902, two brothers named Harry andRoy started the Parker Hardware Company with their father Roy acting as president and treasurer while Harry ran the company from his home on Main Street. In 1922, they moved their business to what is now the corner of Third Street and Broadway where it continued to operate until 2005 when it merged with Denver-based JBL Corporation to form Bose Corporation which continues to produce audio products today under that name. In 1969, after six years of discussion between city officials, representatives from Arapahoe County (later Boulder County) and private landowners through an initiative known as "Townsite", voters passed a resolution ratifying an agreement reached by negotiators during Townsite II talks held at Coors Field in Golden Valley that would give land east of Interstate 25 (now Indian Creek Road) to be developed into an unincorporated community known as Parkersburg with access to Coors Field for sports events and other uses not inconsistent with those being provided for downtown Fort Collins boundaries. That vote followed three others condemning annexation by Fort Collins without voter approval scheduled for September 18th ballot items: resolutions approving use of annexed land for housing; adopting plat forms naming Parkersburg Community Development District No 2; authorizing issuance of tax bonds payable solely from property annexation proceeds authorized pursuant thereto Official Declaration No 5/1/2006 This act became effective on October 1st 2006 when proceedings were placed before commissioners governing zoning regulations affecting development within Parkersburg boundaries

Parker, Colorado is a town in Douglas County, Colorado, United States. The population was 1,906 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Denver–Aurora–Lakewood metropolitan area. The first permanent residents of Parker were two families who arrived in 1872 from Illinois. They named their new community after John A. Parker, a general in the Union army during the American Civil War and one of the first Mormons to settle in Utah Territory. The original settlers were Methodists and Presbyterians who had come to escape religious persecution back home. In 1887, George Ritchie founded an agricultural cooperative with other pioneers near parker Lake while they were still struggling to get water to their rancho Grande upriver from where they drew water for irrigation purposes from nearby Telluride Creek. In 1911, when Parkers Post Office was established, it became serviceable only for men because there was no mail route between Aurora and Douglas County until 1926. However, mail continued flowing through Provo into Parkers until 1959 when Provo-based Southern Pacific Railroad discontinued all passenger service within its own system due to traffic congestion on Interstate 25 east of Denver
In 1876, Parker was founded by John F. Parker and James W. Heineman with the intent of becoming a railroad town. The two men had earlier founded the Parker County Republican Club in 1864. In 1888, the townsite was changed to its current name after Ulysses S. Grant, who had been president at the time of its founding
