By 1870, they had organized themselves into fourteen companies and purchased 281 acres (130 hectares) around what is now downtown Parkers Valley. In 1907, when Douglas County was created, Parker became part of it as well as Fruita andprogressive towns like Aspen, Arvada and Golden Gate Trails developments within its boundaries. By 1928, however,Parker had lost much of its population due toeyouthful Boomtown syndrome that often characterized boomtowns during this time period across America - caused by new technology replacing traditional industry and job growth sparking popular demand for housing rather than goods or services available locally
