The first postmaster was Mrs. O'Keefe who served until 1933 when Mrs. King took over until her retirement in 1951-55. On November 15, 1957 Mr. Ritchie became the new Postmaster after serving two terms as an interim postmaster from 1957-1959 then becoming full time in 1959-1962 It was during his term that they erected a new building on Park Boulevard which still stands today as one of only three buildings in town that remain original from when Parker started out as a tiny village with just 11 residents in 1915 The other two being the Old Bank Building located across Main Street which burned down in 1966 and also the Mount Carmel Baptist Church built back in 1907

The towns namesake Charles Barkley also spent some time in Parker during his basketball career with the University of Colorado Buffaloes from 1975 to 1978 before moving on to play professional basketball with the Memphis Sounds of the American Basketball Association (ABA).
