One of the most popular places in Colorado for shooting is Parker. The city was founded by immigrants from Mexico in 1876 and has been a center for gun culture for over 120 years. Not only does Parker have a rich history with firearms, but its location within easy reach of many mountains also makes it an ideal place to shoot. The first guns in Parker were handguns made by Manuel Ramirez and his brother-in-law Pedro Martinez. In 1879, Mexican immigrant Juana Lopez bought two shotguns from a blacksmith in Denver and started using them to shoot rabbit at their ranch near Thornton. She then traded her shotguns with another Mexican woman, Marcela de la Garza, who had three children living in Thornton. De La Garza became the first person to legally own a gun in Colorado when she bought one from John Biddle at the Crossroads Community Center on July 1, 1889. In 1903, attorney Harry Easley opened the first sporting goods store in town and soon began selling ammunition under the name “Easley” Ammunition Company (later renamed Century Arms). The store was located on Second Street between Main and College Streets until 1955 when it moved to 15th Avenue Northeast next door to IHOP. Easley helped create the modern shotgun industry by developing new propellants that allowed shotguns to fire more rounds per minute than ever before. Parker experienced some significant population growth during World War II due to demand for military recruits throughout Colorado and nearby states. This increased shooting activity led to increasing damage to businesses and residences as well as injuries or fatalities among people who were not authorized or trained to use firearms. At one point, there were so many gunslingers operating out of Parker that law enforcement had difficulty keeping up with demand! As result of this high volume of gunfire, criminal gangs began trafficking weapons into Colorado via mail order from Japan through intermediaries such as Juan Gomez aka John Doe #1 (a former serviceman turned felon) and Alfredo Ramos aka Tony Reyes (a drug addict turned crime boss). Despite these challenges, community members continue To shot devices called “gunslingers” - individuals who engage in indiscriminate gunfire without any regard for safety or legality – every day since 1903!
