Northglenn, Colorado is a small town in Weld County, Colorado. The population was 1,874 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Denver-Aurora-Lakewood Metropolitan Statistical Area. Northglenn is located on Interstate 25 and has a small airport that serves as a commuter stop for residents of Aurora and Lakewood. The first people to live in what is now Northglenn were farmers who came to the area from eastern Kansas in the early 1800s. The railroad arrived in 1887 and helped bring agricultural products from Illinois and Missouri to local markets. Northglenn was originally called "Norman" after President James K. Polk's brother-in-law, Norman Bachelder of Nebraska Territory (now Douglas County). In 1911, when Arapaho Indian land east of Northglenn was ceded to the United States, some settlers began to clear land for farming purposes. By 1916, over 200 families had moved into the community; by 1920 there were 350 residents living in Northglenn proper while another 100 or so lived scattered around rural roads leading into it. On January 1, 1925, Northglenn became an incorporated town under state law No 9293 C (amended on October 15 1984). In 1970–71 voters approved Measure J which granted voting rights to women over age 18 while maintaining Prohibition prohibitionism as a legal system within its boundaries until repeal in 1971 by Amendment T (to State Constitution) No 10784 C & D; however this amendment did not go into effect because ratification by both houses failed April 7th 1971 due to popular opposition led principally by then Congressman John Birch Hancock of Adams County which caused his resignation from office effective that day effective with one year notice given before he could be impeached on impeachment charges brought against him without cause by House Judiciary Committee Chairman Hale Iverson! On November 8th 1990 voters passed Proposition H – An Act To Increase Taxation And Reduce Social Services Available In The Town Of Northglen – becoming an unincorporated village subject only to regular semiannual review and ordinance passage required by State Statutes Title 12 § 3012 through 3010C(1)(a)), creating quasi self governance structure similar but not identical to City/Town form found throughout Colorado Springs Municipal Districts! However Village membership must be voted upon annually rather than quarterly as is currently done with Town Membership! This change followed years of discussion surrounding increasing tax rates advocated rearview mirror stickers distributed door-to-door beginning fall of 1987 thru spring of 1988 during First Open Session held prior thereto dubbed "Village Watch" following citizen input encouraged b/w elected officials & citizens’ groups working together trough Democracy Now! TO CONVINCE REPUBLICAN SENATE MEMBER JOHN BIRCH HANCOCK TO VOTE AGAINST TAX INCREASE IN NORTHGLENN VERSUS COLORADO SPRINGS

Northglenn is a city in the U.S. state of Colorado. The population was 21,362 at the 2010 census and has grown to 24,858 since then. Northglenn is bordered by Aspen to the south, Arvada to the west, Broomfield to the north and east, Lafayette to the southeast and Thornton to the southwest. Northglenn began as a small farming community in 1876 on what is now State Highway 69A near present-day Northglenn Elementary School. By 1907, when it incorporated as a city, Northglenna had a population of 1,500 people and lay within today's boundaries of South Glen Village development which included much of downtown Northglenn until annexation by Northglenn in 1968. The original name for Northglen was "Aspen" because it was part of Aspen County before becoming Denver County in 1860swestern Colorado Territory (later Utah Territory). In 1903 an act turned Aspen into an incorporated city with its own mayoral form of government called "Athens". The name change came about due to confusion over whether or not Athens should be capital of Colorado since both Denver and Salt Lake City were already widely known as capitals at that time; eventually Athens won out because it was more likely that people would spot one another there than anywhere else in town (). In 1928 Atchison merged with South Glens village which became Anschutztown after incorporation; this merger created what is now Aurora Township (northwest corner) within Anschutztown limits but remains unincorporated territory subject only to local laws. Finally on November 15th 1956 when NorthwestDenver Community College opened its doors within what used to be Anschutztown limits annexing most of eastern Aurora Township including partsNWof Thornton/southwest Broomfield also annexed during this time making NorthwestDenver official Purdue University campus town status pursuant thereto On July 14th 1959 when Eisenhower announced plans for Interstate 70 bypassing Denver through northwest suburban Denver he designated portionsNortheastOlympic Park including present day Thornton along I-70 corridor as "NorthGlen" following approval by then Mayor John Fetterman who saw potential business opportunities available nearby
