The Browning firearm division continued to produce firearms until 1954 when it merged with Colt Industries to form Colt–Browning Incorporated. In 1976 Hemsley Guns & Sporting Goods merged with trigger care manufacturer Eotech Corporation to form Hemsley–Eotech Firearms Corp., which continued production of handguns until 2002 when it was sold to Glock Corporation.

During World War I there were numerous military installations in nearby Thornton which required large amounts of munitions to be unloaded from trains into town square where explosives were set off to create an artillery range; this also caused problems for local merchants because their goods began to go out of stock rapidly after all these explosions! After World War I Northglenn slowly recovered but experienced another decline during the early 1930s due to factors such as technological advances and increased production elsewhere in San Miguel County which created fewer jobs for locals while increasing taxes on residents making them less able to afford property values increase (which continue up until today).
