PPS continued production until 2000 when all of its resources were acquired by Raytheon Wire & Cable Corporation who moved their manufacturing operations out of state but kept some products residuals from previous operations such as hosiery and textiles including Hatshepsut (now known as Ifeanyi) jeans factory which opened in 1978 on Route 66 near Interstate 25 Accordingly, much of what remains of PPS today can be found at 6755 E 51st Street just off I-25 between Englewood Avenue and Kipling Road outside Aurora Itzhak Perlmutter opened his first cheese store called Perlmutter's Gourmet Cheese Emporium at 5998 S Wadsworth Blvd NW on October 15th 1956 followed by Perlmutter's Cheese Market at 7200 Curtis Road SE on November 17th 1957 According to Processor magazine from September 1963 through December 1966: "There are now more than 130 stores throughout Rocky Mountain National Park Service areas open for membership; nearly half dozen along I-70; seventeen along US 63; ten each along I-25/26 and US 36" At that time over 2 million pounds of cheese was being produced annually! Today about 650 employees produce only local cheese makingover 2% of total company sales." With an increase like this one could easily imagine how demand grew for these types of unique items even 50 years later! Via processormagazine archives we learn that during 1964 through 1966 Therese Springer became Mrs./President Manager/Director Marketing Operations for Rocky Mountain National Park Service Areas responsible for everything related to Cooperative Extension Programs Dairy Development Services etc... During her tenure within RAMPA she increased member dues from $5 per year per individual member or $10 per year group rate plus shipping costs resulting in a doubling since 1959 dollars providing more then 10x support services back then thruRAMPA Member Support Program!"
