From 1904 until 1906 humans started developing marijuana as an agricultural crop for use as an early form of contraception and also to increase their market value from Native American trade goods such as baskets or clothing not available elsewhere; this became known as "Marijuana Hill" even though that part of town now lies within Pueblo's limits

Northglenn, Colorado is a town in Douglas County, Colorado, United States. The population was 1,713 at the 2010 census. Northglenn is part of the Englewood-Reston, VA Metropolitan Statistical Area. Northglenn is located on State Highway 12 south of Englewood and north of Greeley. The first permanent residents of what became Northglenn were three families who arrived in 1876 from Benton County, Kansas. They built a log cabin on the east side of US 12 near where it crossed the Continental Divide and named their settlement Northglenn for its location on high ground overlooking the valley below. In 1886 two brothers, Harry Ayer and Arthur Haggerty, founded Ayer & Haggerty Hardware store in what became known as "The Square". In 1907 they incorporated as a town under the name Northglenn. The store operated until 1951 when it was replaced by Englewood Mall which still operates today On February 14, 1912 oil rigs began production off shore at Anadarko Field off coast of British Columbia; this led to oil being discovered and developed in western Colorado Territory by drillers such as John Dickey (1912) and George Goudreau (1920). By 1926 over 100 wells had been drilled in Douglas County alone and an estimated $3 million had been invested in developing oil resources hereabouts including $1 million from Standard Oil Company founder Andrew Carnegie In 1930s residents formed a Citizens' Commission to beautify downtown streetscape with new sidewalks and planting along Main Street; this effort failed due to lack of funds but marked beginning of large scale city planning hereabouts which continues to this day In 1941 during WWII there were many patriotic citizens who worked together to provide food for soldiers stationed nearby at Glenrock Army Airfield; also many businesses closed their doors localizing wartime shortages elsewhere Following World War II small businesses started up again throughout town with more people moving into these communities during post-war boom years Additional growth came about due to military housing developments such as Fort Carson Army Airfield housing development (1948), Rocky Mountain Arsenal ammunition plant housing development (1950), White Sands Missile Rangehousing development (1951), Aurora Municipal Airport housing development (1952) all across Douglas County The late 1960s through early 1970s saw some rapid growth with construction begun on Interstate 25 bypassing town limits leading downgradient into Englewood-Reston area making access easier for people commuting into Denver or other cities within the metropolitan area
Northglenn is a city in southern Colorado, United States. The population was 8,566 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Grand Junction metropolitan area. Northglenn was founded on December 12, 1864 by John Smedley and his wife Jennie Neece as a station on the Northern Pacific Railroad. The first post office in Northglenn was established on December 19, 1864. The town of Northglenn grew quickly during the late 1800s and early 1900s from small farming communities to larger towns with businesses and schools. By 1910, Northglenn had a population of over 20,000 people and it became an important agricultural center for southeastern Colorado. In 1923, Northglenn became the capital of newly created Larimer County after Larimer County seceded from Weld County. In 1959, Denver–Aurora International Airport opened in nearby Aurora and increased traffic to Northglenn; accordingly, the city began to focus more on economic development than education or tourism. However, NORTHGLENN has remained an important cultural center for southwestern Colorado and continues to be home to many prominent local professionals and artists. The current mayor is Don Iveson who took office in 2013
